thinking of making a stealth vegging cab/ mother room
any ideas or improvements would be appreciated

I plan on using a mix of LED and florescent lighting on a 18/6 light cycle will this be ok for a mother?

Plan is for 2m long 1m high grow area. and use my current room for flower

opps forgot the measurements ...

650mm wide x 2000mm long x1750 high
with the bottom cabinet being 1000mm and the top shelves 750 high width 500

what program did u use to make that shit looks dope what do u plan on puttin on top of the shelfs ? storage or somthing ?

I'm thinking of doing a very similar thing, but gona start with seeds first, I won't be mothering any of the girls in my current grow. The lights and space will be fine for a mother depending how many/what wattage lights you use. I personally am not going to use cfl's or led's because i'm on a tight budget and with all the bulbs + fittings it actually works out more expensive than just getting a 250W MH or broad spectrum HPS. Of course the CFL's + LED's are cheaper to run and last longer, also no problems with heat which is important in a small space. So if you wanted to use HID lighting you'd most likely want to raise or get rid of the shelf. What are you doing for ventilation? I'm probably gona use a couple of 12V computer fans.

Ventilation i will install a carbon filter and fan to exhaust and either go with a passive intake or some computer fans.(black square in drying compartment)
yea id put 2 250s in but im not a big fan of heat and to be honest HID lighting scares me this plan is getting put into action slowly (i am a broke student)
But i was thinking 3 90 or 50w led units (cheap ones) and 4 fluorescent tubes on the back wall.

I will try and keep the plants as close to the lights as possible to encourage nice and tight growth as I will have them vegging for a long time so slowing growth may become an issue(10 week veg)

Nah just cant bring myself to use CFLs maybe because i see them as normal light bulbs lol

But i can get some cheap led units which should do the job with the added fluorescent tubes :)

Haha nice, im a broke student too! Well money wise, for me it's cheaper right now to get an HID and pay the bigger energy bills at the end of the year when i should have some money. Like I said before, i'd end up spending more or bulds + fittings and still not really have enough lumens if i went with cfls, but maybe they're cheaper where you are. If you're only gona veging in that tent then there isnt much need for a carbon filter... especially if your looking to save the monies. Don't be scared by HIDs, im using a 600W hps and it's my 1st grow (click the sig. if you wana see it), and the light's worked a treat. no problems with burn and the tops of the plants have reached pretty close recently, moved the light up today. But honestly my girls have been growing really nice, stocky with lots of foliage, under that light would def. recommend it.

What strain(s) are you looking to mother in there?
