Hi there firstly,

I have been trying to grow and after consulting many grow diaries and web sites I am still having problems with my seedlings.. and it's beginning to piss me off now...

I discovered it was my compost that killed off my first seedlings which turned them yellow.

I have grow space of 3' x3' 5'(H)

I am using a 250W mh

B&Q compost (As recommended here)

My seedlings (Big Bud & Afghan) were doing great up till last night.

But suddenly one of the stems sorta went all skinny half way up then fell over ... today my big bud did it too ..

Is it the heat or lack of water ???

It is not nutes as I havent fed
+ Ph is fine...

I am so confused ...

My big bud i planted further down, no sign of damage to leaves still looking green ...

Should i turf it out ...?

but, how much stem is showing? there should be none showing at all. you should have the dirt right up to the first real leaves to prevent stem stretch and it falling over as yours have done. keep a fan on them to strengthen the stems too, the plants should shake from the fans breeze! water every 3-4 days only.

no offense, but I ain't gonna squint to try and read that bag label you just need to have them all the way into the dirt

Thanks for response..

TBH as they were under week old i never introduced the fan, so a fan is needed from first sprout?

Heres a picture of it just before i buried it's stem (and first water since sprouted)
Notice the gap on the stem.

AFTER BURIED

Do you think it will die now ....?

Sorry that was a compost rating chart that i got from another site, just to show you my compost has good rating for all stages.

I might be inclined to treat it like a clone and snip right above the damage at 45 degrees. That stem area doesn't look like it can recover.

Maybe start a thread over in the Sick Plant Thread. Those guys will be able to help.
