hey i have a dwc setup and this is the third plant that has fallen victim to this "stem rot" im calling it. in the picture you can see at the base of the stem it appears to be a dark color and in the past it basically gets eaten away after a period of a couple of weeks. what should i do? is this happening because of the dwc setup getting the stem too wet photo.JPG in the past this has led to the plant falling over because of the loss of support. please give some advice

any thing above the rockwool cube shouldn't be getting wet. As for the stem rot thing if you can imo I would take clones off of it.

try that but I grew in DWC and once the roots got long enough I never filled my res much higher then the bottom of the net pot. Also I would take clones off of it if you can cuz it will also help buy you time to figure out what's going wrong.

Also have you checked to see if you have bugs at all?

yeah i have never seen a bug so far. i think its from getting wet right now but i have other plants im worried it will eventually happen to them

Well I've figured keep them small so you can turn them into clones and put a new mom in place of the old one.

yeah i could just make an army for the spring to go planting around in the woods lol jk
hahaha. for me imo I would keep the turn over fast because that will help reduce long term problems from happening. If you have a aero cloner like I do its easy because I have yet to have any cuttings not take root.

yeah dude they r so easy to clone it just takes forever for imo like 3 weeks but it def does grow roots it could be cool to just have one big cola for like mad plants instead of less bigger plants i feel like it might even grow faster too cuz its a smaller plant

well in the aero cloner that i have I asked now long it will take to root a ice strain and a guy said 15 to 20 days in soil but I got roots in 8 to 9 days. Also SOG flowering is best if you don't have alot of time to veg your plants out.

So if you have the space and cash maybe a AeroCloner might be a good investment for you.

If this is a reoccuring issue, I would say you are culturing a fungus or simiar in there. Do you clean down fully after every grow? Do you run H202 at reguar intervals?

I'm a newb, so take it for what its worth, but in both pictures your rocks seems very wet. I have a DWC system, and the top rocks in mine are always dry. I think you are getting your moisture too high up and it is causing you to get root rot.
