tastes terrible. but did feel a slight high. and my legs felt a little twitchy as if you jus took 4 dramamine....

but im gonna try it again with the same stems but boil it longer and make it into 1 cup....

i made some with shake and trimmings. tasted amazing, like a pumpkin spice late from starbucks. i ended up drinking about 6 cups to myself because of how good it tasted forgetting i was drinking pot.

i couldn't wake up the next morning.

you just boiled them in water?? if so, that was your first mistake... thc needs some fat to bind to in cooking, so all you were doing is getting the horrible taste with little to no effects.....

Gogrow is exactly right.
You need some kind of fat emulsifier,ie milk.
Lecithin granules are the best and you should never "boil" it,only bring it to the boil and then quickly reduce the heat and simmer it slowly for about 15 minutesbongsmilie

I found this on a thread in Cooking With Cannabis ... I bet it would work the same with stems.

After searching all over the internet and learning almost nothing about making a good, potent marijuana tea, I decided to just go ahead and try it myself (while abroad in Amsterdam, of course). IT WORKS. What I ended up with was a delicious tea that got me absolutely wasted for several hours (I'll admit I overdid it a bit....). Here's what I did, and the dosages I recommend:

1) Crush up 1 gram of nice kind-bud as fine as you can get it and put it in a teabag (you can unstaple any teabag, replace with ganja, and re-staple or paperclip). You can omit the teabag if you have something to strain your tea through when it is done like a gold coffee filter or cheesecloth.

2) Put 1 cup of water in a medium saucepan or tea kettle and heat over high until boiling.

3) Reduce to a low boil and add your ganja teabag (or loose ganja) with **1/2 teaspoon of butter** (you will not get any effect without this ingredient. NO MARGARINE.). Stir until dissolved.

4) Cover and let simmer for 1 hour.

5) Stir in one cup of whole milk, along with cinnamon, sugar and allspice to taste. You can also add an herbal teabag like African redbush or licorice, if desired). Bring back to boil and simmer for 15 minutes.

6)Add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract and bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 30 seconds and transfer to large mug (through filter if not using teabag). Sprinkle with nutmeg.

I drank the whole thing immediately. It was delicious and two hours later I was basically tripping. I'd probably recommend 1/2 as a starting point. If you measure out the recipe as I've directed, you can make 4 small sups and get slightly buzzed, 2 medium cups and get pretty stoned or 1 big cup and get totally blitzed into uselessness.

Have fun!

How much stems do you have? Maybe you could try grinding them in a coffee grinder... I've never tried it, it might be a bad idea. lol but I can't think of any other way to break the stems down really well.

butter does taste wierd... i'd go with some milk or heavy cream... that sucks that you downed all of the tea with no effects... i know how bad it can taste... i've done it with just milk; add a little bit of cinnamon and alot of sugar or honey, and its really not that bad...

let us know how it works... well, we know how it works, but let us know how you liked it.... you usin shwag stems??? cause the dank stems really dont taste bad... my advice would be like i said earlier, use milk (or mostly milk with some water) to brew it with; add some cinnamon and sugar/honey, toss in a few ice cubes to cool it a little (so you dont burn your mouth) and slam that shit back... then wait about an hour...

Also, wouldn't boiling ruin the THC before it gets into your body? When people cook cannabis, aren't they careful about watching the heat?

Hey, great tip! Never would have thought of that. But.. where do you find them? On your grocer's shelf?

yes, from what i understand, a rolling boil will degrade much of the thc... hence the slow simmer.... i've even had decent results doing it like a cup of tea.... really hot in the microwave and then use a "tea ball" full of weed and dunk it for awhile... but wouldnt recommend it....

are you stalking me sea?:-P

Thanks for sharing that. +rep. I'm making some ground schwag tea with good stems and good leaves with your recipe. I am over a month away from having anything decent to smoke so maybe this will save my lungs a bit.

Here is an American net link so that you can check it out.
This site is a wholesale site and they sell it in bulk but they have a lot of info on lecithin there for you to read before you find some in just about any health food shop.
I've also included some of a local friends videos/sites,he owns a head shop in Glastonbury and shows you how to make several recipes:joint:

Soy lecithin granules an excellent nutritional supplement.

Thank you! :D

Edit: Crap! My folks were just down in Cabo San Lucas, I should have asked for them to buy me a good metate (stone grinding mortar and pestle).

Your friends site is wonderful, too. Just look at all the treats! Alright, more to dig; the idea of using FOOD to get your complete nutrition, instead of taking a bunch of pills.

I would say, take some not flavored vegetable stock, and stems, and make yourself some sun-tea, it works for me. :P

After reading this thread, this is what i did an hour ago.

I was really intrigued by this so i attempted to mix weed and coffee. I made a mug of coffee ( prob. 25% coffee, 75% milk, that how i like it). then i filled an emptied tea bag with around a half a gram of schwaggidy dry bud. I crushed the bud up very fine and put it in the mug and put it in the microwave for a couple min (i didnt feel like going too advanced). well i have to say coffee and weed don't taste good together IMO, it wasn't enjoyable drinking it, i had to force myself to finish it. It's been an hour later, i feel somewhat high, and have a minor stomach ache. I'll gonna try making some sort of drink soon, but not coffee!

I've only tried one drink, and it was a pre-made thing from the dispensary. I don't remember what it was called, my sister bought it. It was sweet, probably to mask the taste, but it didn't work. It was gacky. I got absolutely no high off of it at all, whereas my sister said that it got her "like totally blazed, man!"
