Steps after harvesting/trimming your main colas

What is everyones take on harvesting the main cola? (around soda can sized). After you have trimmed the cola and it is dryed do you break it down in to smaller pieces or leave the main colas as one big piece?

I never break down my main colas... Too awesome!

I think the consensus is to keep buds as intact as possible.
Quite a lot of people dry the plant by hanging it upside down and some even cure branch sections, to allow for slower drying & curing times and higher terpenoid production (theoretically at least).

And as roc said, they look too awesome to break up

I break it down.

I'm not going to be admiring it visually in the end, I'm going to be smoking it. Breaking a main or large cola down is simple with small trimmer.

I dry as one piece, it's just when I'm about to jar it up for cure I have a large bowl I break down all my large buds in and then I jar em up. Take a pic if you need it for memories.
