stg sucking up big bloom, stunting its growth?

I recently started some seeds that I already germinated. I put them in stg inserts in 3.25" net pots using a 5 gallon bucket dwc ( two airstones plenty of water 1 tsp of grow big 1 tblsp of big bloom. My problem is the sure to grow is sucking up all the nutes I can squeeze it and you.can see all the dark brown water come out of it from the big bloom. It's been 3 days and there's only 6 out of 12 plants that have fully sprouted is my water level too high? ( net pot sits little under half way in bubbling solution) why is the stg soaking up all the color and probably all the nutes from the water are my plants damping off should I squeeze most of the water out of the stg and lower the water level to where just the bubbles get the net pot wet

I wouldn't have used nutes when sprouting seeds
Not all seeds after cracking will take
Stg will not attract nutes, it will take on the color of your water
If your concerned about the water level being to high and 1/2 your seeds aren't taking off because of it than drop the level and keep an eye on the ones already sprouted that they don't dry out and see if your situation improves
I would suggest sprouting in a 1x1 plug in a tray with a humidity dome when the sprout has taken root then transfer to the stg insert, bring water level up to the bottom of the plug hole in the insert, place the rooted plug, make sure the plug stays damp, when you have good roots out of the net pot lower the water level to 2" below the net pot.

Hope that helps

okay so I took are the inserts, squeezed all of the excess water out of them. Placed a thin layer of hydroton at bottom of net pot and put insert back on. The insert isn't so soggy now should have better supply of oxygen. I also misted seedlings with a 1 tbl spoon of H202 to one quart of water also added a cup of H202 to the 4 gallons of water in the res. I added a oscilating fan to keep better air flow on seedlings. I never gave seedlings nutes til week 3 but that's in soil. I read the fox farm hydro schedule said seedlings 1 tsp of grow big and 2 tsp of big bloom per gallon. I thought they needed vthe trace elements. I tried to start the germed seeds in just the 1x1" insert that fit in the 3.25" insert but it wouldn't come out without tearing plus the only tray I had way a jiffy pot tray and they are round as the stg wad square. Should I take all the plants out of the net pots and put them in the tray til they get a few set of leaves ( because only 5 out of ten seedlings have spiked leaves the other 3 are still yellow greening with the sprout not fully opened yet) its been 5 days since I placed germed seeds in inserts. Also how grew do you check. Your ph? Just in past 5 days had to lower ph 3 times jumped up from 6.3 to 7.1 over night

I don't fallow
It wouldn't come out of the insert?
If so I wouldn't take the plug out of the insert, the plant is taking root
Now with the ones not sprouting I would transfer those to a tray till they have a few sets and roots coming out of the plug

Your nutes are probably to high and the Ph keeps drifting up

yea once the seeds pop DO NOT try and remove them from the insert.

if you ment the1.5x1.5 inserts wouldn't come out of the 3.25 inserts without tearing..i wouldn't have put them in until i hat atleast a sprout sticking out of the top of the cube.

you will need to hand water them..not so their sopping wet,but moist.

lastly i would dump your rez and just add ph'd water to around 5.8..it will swing on you for awhile..just until you have a couple set of leaves..then i would add your nutes, and then at 1/2 to 1/4 strength.

the directions on just about all the major hydro nutes are waay to strong..i'm sure most here will agree with me.

get yourself a TDS/PPM/EC meter if you don't have one already will save you alot of headaches in the future.

heres a chart i go by..i got it from this forum.

Seedlings, Early Sprouts 100 to 250

Early Vegging 300 to 400

Full Vegetation 450 to 700

Early Blooming 750 to 950

Full Mature Blooms 1000 to 1600

(this excludes the ppm of your water)

I'm meant the 1.5 inch inserts wouldn't come out of the 3.25" ones like they were poorly precut. And I do have a tds meter my tap water is 240 and with the nutes its 700 . I agree about too much nutesbecause the ones that have develop ed spiked leaves are very dark green ( too much nitrogen?) If I can remove the inner inserts safely from the plants that are sprouting too great would they stand up straight in a jiffy pellet tray? I was worried it would fall over. By the way I appreciate your time everybody.

Also I'm doing 10 different strains ( pick and mix from attitude) should I be careful and add little less then half strength through out whole grow or should they all adapt

running multi strains from the same rez can be very difficult.

one strain might be a heavy feeder while another might be a light feeder.

not saying it can be done..just more difficult.

The inserts do not come with a plug
I think when they manufacture the insert they core out the middle but not all the way, than pull it out an inch cut it and what is left is some thing that looks like a plug but wont come out. You can tell the compaction in the area of the plug is less so it needs to be filled with an actual 1.5" plug. I bought the tornado inserts once and was confused by this as well @ the time I was cloning and just shoved some hail cubes around the cut to fill in the gap

Yes dark green leaves can mean high N levels

Snow white, og #18, white widow, blue venom, tangerine dream, dutch Passion trance, mkage, super silver haze, berry bomb, delehaze, cheese and querkle. Which ones would go good together in the same rez. I'm running 3 - 5gal buckets with plenty of aeration. 4 net pits in each until they are close to flower then 2 plants per 5 gal rez. Also the dutch passion and the tangerine didn't germ or sprout... I've always had 100% success germinating because I scour the seeds before I soak them and put them in paper towels in a ziploc container
