Sounds interesting. Let me know how that goes. I love mushrooms.

I have chickens, guineas, and ducks so Japanese beetles, slugs and tics are nonexistent here lol.
nice all we got is a bunch of cats and dogs and 1 bird and lots of fishes. trying to get out of the aquarium hobby though shit is more expensive then growing been in it for i think 20 years now. pets getting to be too much though i wish i could get some chickens but can't. we have a BUNCH that free roam in my neighborhood but the stupid kids keep harassing them and i think kill them or use them for chicken fights all of which of course is illegal here.

The wife wants to do aquaponics, but I don't care much for fish. I told her I will compromise if we get prawn instead lol.

Nobody harasses my chickens. I have a Red Star rooster that is just fucking wicked toward predators. The guineas are the watchdogs. They swarm cars as soon as they come down the driveway lol. We call them the geek squad because they are always geeking out about something, could be a car a mile down the road lol.

yea they harass um in my neighborhood. kids in my neighborhood need to get whacked. they usually dont mess around at our house though because they know if we catch them on our property were gonna tell um to gtfo. my dad does aquaponics but like his cannabis grows he don't know wtf he doing lol. the plants usually die but the fish die faster. he uses tilapia though which is some pretty damn hardy fish.

fish are cool imo got a lot of different types i usually only have carnivorous fish in my aquarium. right now i have a green spotted puffer but the store here sells all kinds for salt water. last i went they had a couple frog fish and box fish which is always cool and porcupine puffers and a moray eel but the eel was pretty big.

My wife's mom used to have nice salt water aquariums I hear. Before we were a thing. Never saw them.

About the closest I get to aquariums is when I catch snappers and catfish and put them in a pool for a few days to mud out before we eat them lol.

I'm still not sold on the aquaponics. Just more electricity. We have a creek right down the yard with crawfish... That's good enough for me.

yea i would say it aint worth it your basically just combining 2 hobbies into 1 so it's more costly. dont think we have crayfish on my island anymore or much of um think they went into extinction people eating um. we used to go to this pond that had a bunch of them. you ever try use the water in the creek? maybe more minerals and shit

I live in a swamp lol. My well water has 120ppm before filtered. 20-30 after the filter.

I do use the silt from the creek in the garden. The ducks have it fertilized to the high hell.

Yea, I dunno how to do that.

You could distill it so it's potable, but that would remove the minerals too.

Interesting.

I don't have the slightest clue. I don't live anywhere near an ocean,so it's never even crossed my mind.

It would be interesting to find out though. Might have to research it tomorrow. I'm out for the night though. I'll catch up with you later.

Peace out, stay green.
