hi, my grow box/closet is still getting too hot, its about 153cm high x 124cm width x 200cm,

i am currently running a 6in fan through 6in cool shade, with 4in fan pulling air in from outside, i have a big oscillating fan and a small one too, i have a min/max temp gauge and it reads 77f coldest and 88f hottest, its in spare bedroom with window open slightly, any suggestiona would be great as some of you might know that i have had this problem for a while now, and had to bin my last crop

can you pull in air from under your house? buy an ac? are you opening the box when the lights are on or do you have to keep it closed?

A/C would do the trick. Since there is a window in the room it would be cheaper to get a window AC unit instead of a portable one, plus u don't have to worry about exhaust or intake.

They can be bought on the cheap, used, off of Craigslist.

Just make sure you get one with enough BTU's to handle your lights. A 1000W HPS gives off about 3500 BTU's of heat. Also take into account that older used A/C's are probably not running at 100% efficiency. If you vent your lights then you would be in great shape with a 10,000 BTU A/C.

I pretty much buy a used window unit every summer. Then sell it in the winter.
I got a 14,000 BTU window A/C for $65 this year. It works great and I'm considering holding onto it if I can refill the freon inside.. G-room never goes above 75 degrees and the thermostat is really accurate.

Only issue is that it has a digital interface and I can't use it with my environmental controller. If you use a master controller make sure you get an A/C with an analog control. (knobs or mechanical buttons, not a touchpad) or else your controller won't be able to turn it back on when it turns it off.

well, 4 inch intake and 6 inch outtake?

unless you got some extra passive hole, thats more going out than in.

might explain the heatproblems.
