I have experience growing indoor and outdoor but this is my first try at aeroponic/nft as originally designed by stinkbud. I have made a customized version after much much reading and a few helpful bits of advice. This system was originally designed to grow from clone and was titled a lb every three weeks, but I've scaled it way down to suit my very limited space and I'll be growing from seed.
This is my medicine and I care more for great taste and unique flavors/effects than I do for yield - but improved yields would be nice too!
I have five 2" netpot sites on two fence posts (rails) with 1/2 PVC running in the rails. The two site rail has 3 easy spray aero misters the three site one has four. My res is a 12 gal Coleman cooler with a 396 gallon pump and relief valves at the bottom (built into the cooler) and the top in the 1/2" pvc. I'll be using frozen water bottles if it looks like my res is getting too warm.
I will be starting five different strains for this, variety being the spice of life and all. Mostly attitude freebies. And if all of them don't make it, that's okay. I'm looking at this first run as more of a trial and error with emphasis on the error. These are all feminized:
- dinafem blue widow
- dinafem blue hash
- barney's critical kush
- cheese (forget the breeder)
- eva seeds veneno
My space is an enclosure around a bath tub. It is roughly 2.5x4x8.5. I have passive carbon filtered intake and a 6" x 24 " carbon filter serviced by a 400 cfm inline fan. The room air goes through the 6" filter, then through my light (400w clw solarstorm) then through a duct muffler and out of the house. I have an oscillating fan and two small stationary fans moving air around.
I'll be using superstoners organic nutrient schedule, which I'll detail when I begin feeding but mostly consists of botanicare products. Well that's all for now. On my way to drop my seeds into separate water cups with a spoonful of h202 for the night. Oh yeah, once they germ, I'll put the right into the two inch netpots, which are already in the rails and are filled with perlite as a starter medium. I've left room for neoprene collars for when the seedlings get tall enough.
