Just a shoot off the side about 3-5 inches tall'ish, chop off the leaves from the bottom of the cutting, so you have about an inch or 2 of basically bare stem. Try to put the stem a good inch or so in the dirt or whatever so there's the maximum potential for root growth.

Cloning from a flowering plant is basically not worth it, they take up to 4 weeks just to show roots (and even then they die) from what I've found, oh and you want to keep misting them at least twice a day with plain ol' water 'cause that's the only way they get food 'til they root, and keep the medium moist.

My mother surely would be a suspect if they only checked the heat of houses, she (and lots of others) has her thermostat so high that wearing a t-shirt in winters is already much. I'd be more paranoid when it comes to telling what you're doing to others.
Most electric heaters already use 2 kiloWatts. It would look strange from the sky if a summerhouse in the garden has a heat-signature like that 18 hours a day though.

No, you have nothing to worry about, lol. FLIR does not give a 3d image, nor does it give them x-ray vision.

If you were using an outbuilding, like a garden shed or such, then I'd worry.

My 400w is in a closet and just vents openly into my bedroom and window opens nd bedroom door open for air flow.

Could this be seen from above? My thoughts are no but I'm just wondering....

Be sure to mist the growing medium only, do not mist the leaves or you will smother the clone, it needs to breathe, that's why you use a cloning chamber to trap the humidity in the air.

Hailing from the midwest and having grown there, I am paranoid growing legally, but that only really sets in during the end of flower (that will never goes away I figure)

Hey, some paranoia is expected. Truth is I'd be more worried about being robbed. The FLIR is not something to take lightly...they can see heat differences so if ur room is warmer than the rest of ur place, coupled with other suspicions ur paranoia could be justified. In the US they need a warrant to use FLIR but they always scan without warrants as mentioned. They don't gotta play by the rules like the general public does. If u play by the rules, it's one less thing to be paranoid about IMO.

No worries. My friend lived in trailer in a fly zone area in the states and he never got a visit. They flew over the entire town many times a year. He was pumping a 600watt in veg and two 600 watts in flower, but both his rooms were inside of a large bedroom, so there was a little more insulation protection but then again trailers have almost no roof insulation and his rooms inside a room were only panda film stapled on wood frames so he was pretty exposed to IR. He vented under his trailer and never a problem. 400 watts is nothing. The UK is scary. I'd be more paranoid about them knowing or having records of what I bought like lights or fans or seeds, then worrying about IR fly overs or drive bys. If you are under 2000 watts and have at least half-assed insulted walls and ceiling you're fine.

As for "the end" a good quality carbon filter in both the flower and dry room helps with the stress. A little ona on the side and you could flower and dry with no smell issues if your apartment was built into the side of a copshop. Negative pressure is our friend.

Well Mr Misty doesn't work as a name since they changed the Mr Misty to Arctic Freeze on the DQ menu...

but seriously, I have the quart jar of ona gels, and plenty of refill for it, I keep that between my drying and flowering rooms, I also keep a jar of the ona block in my living room. I have to small of a setup for the carbon and ducting to make sense... but soon as I move it's on!!!

Really? Run my 400 in an enclosed cupboard/closet last summer no problems? What way do you connect filter fan and ducting together with a cool tube anyway?

No wonder you need cool tubes with that! Ha. My 1x 400w sucks :( want a 600w but one step at a time. Planning on filling a DS90 tent and keeping em short under my 400w for now.

Bet you get monster buds with that! Think I would get nervous running 600w even though there so much better!

How does your 400w suck? out of curiosity, 'cause I had one and had to pull that grow early still yielded 3oz off of 1 plant and a tiiiny lil clone.

Guess I just come on here and get jealous when see all big boys do it. But guess stick to what you got. I got 0.5 g per watt last grow with lots of brushing up on my skills taking place off 2 autos and 2 fems.
