first time grower long time toker... i've tried growing before and failed badly this time im on the right track thanks to you guys and gals on the forum. but as you know being a newbie i'm over anylizing everything (its almost under control) but what im tripping on now is about humidity, i'm in the desert so we have hardly any so i need to now how to do that as cheap as possible, my grow closet is 5'x5'x8 with 2 48 inch flous and a 100watt cfls with 5 northern light seedlings about 9 days old my temp stay between 74f and 81f but my humidity is at 39% and dropping (it was at 50%) so my question fellow stoners is how much do i need to have and how do i achieve it. i heard of having a bucket of water in the closet so when it evaporates it will cause humidity, so i put in 2 mop buckets about 2 gals a piece full of water but still my humidity continues to drop please help...

you ok. mist your plants once a day, keep the buckets of water. Use a humidifier in the room that supplies your grow room with intake air.

Ok, 81c is almost 180f......... that's WAY too hot! You should not be above 80f! Do you mean F?

PS is Brown Bomber from Grandma's boy? Hilarious movie........

Yeah I'm thinking he means fahrenheit , or else he wouldn't have any plants to speak of, they'd be shriveled up by now, what happens when it gets past 80? because mine goes to 90 at times, it's mostly between 70 and 80 though, come winter I will be able to control it better.

Nice start, your plants look like they are doing well, are you not having trouble with humidity now?

I have some around that age and they seem to be doing good as well, doing a lot better since I put them under CFL's but one plant has two tiny yellow spots, I can't figure out what's causing them, I read somewhere that it could be bugs or possibly the light being to close, I couldn't find or see any bugs so I raised my lights a bit, hope it helps.

Good job on your grow, plants are looking good! I'll be keeping an I out for updates and more pics.

Looking good however they seem to be a bit stretched and thin not so bushy could be the strain but if you transplant them to 2 - 3 gallon buckets/pots and burry the stems to the first set of water leaves, I bet they will bush out more and grow larger. keep the lights about the same, also I would ad at least one more shop light, four tubes total.

I'm actually liking the cfl's a lot better, but I plan to use both, I'm going to put my best 6 girls under cfl light and the remainder (if any) under the shop lights, I would like to see the difference in growth, so far the cfl's are doing much better, I'm also thinking about running an all cfl grow and use the tubes to light the sides of the plants, I really don't know what I'm going to do just yet but time will tell, I'm just hoping they continue to grow.

Keep up the good work on your grow and keep us posted!

PS: the books your using for a prop, hope your kids don't get mad at ya when they warp.lol., also the plant on the far right looks like it needs another book or two under it.
