Straight to the jar in low RH

What is your drying area like? A room, a tent, enclosed space?

Yiu could add moisture by hanging laundry out to dry (don’t use highly scented clothes) in the same area to bump the RH up.

If you cant raise the RH dry for 3-5 days and keep all the leaves on. Then box em up, not a jar because you want more air with them than a confined space. Then keep taking them out the box every 12hrs for another 3-5 days. Then before the stems snap but it feels dry jar them. Leave for 24hrs and let them sweat until the stems crack not a brittle snap

And add a hygrometer to the box ;)

They are about $20 for 5 !

I never could get the snap the branch thingee :o

Instead I wait until the buds are almost crispy on the outside and spongy on the inside.

Once the rh is under 70% I buck the buds of all of one plant into an appropriate sized tote, about 3/4's full.

Then burp one tote twice a day until rh is 58%, then store in mason jars.

Thanks, I'm still working that out. I can either do it in a dark spot in my basement 32% RH or turn my grow room into the dry room and mechanically up the humidity.

I like the basement idea because then I can selectively harvest because I have 3 strains maturing at a little bit different times. I'm almost at 9 weeks for flower so expecting definite Amber to show up.

Thanks, Looks like you had the same problem that I do not enough humidity. I'd rather have not enough than too much!

Did you say you quit watering them for 3 days before harvest?

What do you mean by "buck the buds"?

Just get as close as you can to 60 degrees/60% rh. I also selectively harvest, built a frame out of electrical conduit and drape a tarp over it...

Then you can place a pan of water, etc. in there... I also have a four port air pump running on medium setting to circulate the air.

Yes, starts the drying process ;)

I hang branches first and then cut the buds off the branches to finish drying/curing in totes.

At drying stage: I'm at 60 F but 32 RH. Should I put the flowers in jars and burp 3-4x / day? Or is that bad news?
In those conditions i just cut it off at the ground, and hang the whole thing without any trimming. The leaves will kind of wrap the flowers and help keep the humidity right. Once the outer leaves crisp up i cut off the branches and move them to brown bags. Jarring too early is a major risk of mold no matter how much burping you do. Like others stated a hygrometer takes the guesswork out of the process, but it takes over 24hrs to get an accurate reading assuming you arent opening the box, bag, or jar.

I put that 10 inch test bud in a jar 8 hours ago and it's at 99% RH. I'm surprised because the grow room was at 35%. Of course it goes without saying it's not in the jar anymore LOL.

It smells better than when it was connected to the plant.

Wouldn't that be wet. Does it feel dry? Don't want it to mold.

Right super wet. Wetter than I thought it would be after flowering in 30-35RH @

I'm going to leave the leafs on and hang them for 3-5 days and then test in a jar for 8 hours.

Alternatively: use paper bag or box depending....

See pic. Both half's of the guinea pig.
