I think he's referring to this. What the hell is Jamaican lion?
Yep. True top shelf high CBD strain. Saw it test out at 18%/7% cbd. Very impressive.I think he's referring to this.

Yep. And I want it now!Holy shit! True medical dispensaries will jump on that strain in a heartbeat!
I'd pay to take classes at Kone University.Word I'm always curious as to how you find all of the things you do dan. Teach me your ways.
The Sour Tsunami strain has been found to be wishful thinking. Anyone looking for high CBD strains should inquire of Dr William Courtney in Mendocino. His website is cannabisinternatonal.org. He has a strain that tests at over 20% CBD 1%THC called ACDC. It was originally called Cannatonic.Dan, if you have good luck finding it let me know where I can pick it up please, I could use that down here in SoCal !! There's also a Sour tsunami strain that tests at 10-11% cbd.. Seeds are sold at HH in Oakland. There is a 1 in 4 chance from seed to get 10-11% pheno. so the website says !!
It's not just about high cbd levels. There is harlequin out there that tests @ 15% thc. It's total garbage. High cbd levels don't mean shit unless it has thc mixed in with it. Any level of cbd that is higher than the level of thc does nothing IMO.Dan, if you have good luck finding it let me know where I can pick it up please, I could use that down here in SoCal !! Other than Jamaican lion, cannatonic is the only other high cbd strain I would grow. The problem with cannatonic is that there is that it produces a very wide and unpredictable variety of phenotypes. It produces some of the best and worst high cbd bud out there because of it. There have been phenos of cannatonic that tested below 1% cbd, and other phenos that test out as nearly all cbd.The Sour Tsunami strain has been found to be wishful thinking. I have a lead for Jamaican Lion but I never know until I have it in my hands that I will actually receive it. I will post news if I get one.
I'm a fucking nerd. I read dispensary menus, lab test results, and articles on cannabis for several hours every day. When I'm not doing that, I'm working with my own stuff. It's all I do.Word I'm always curious as to how you find all of the things you do dan. Teach me your ways.
I have heard of Harlequin copies that are very different than the on that I have. I have a 3-1...9%-3%, CBD-THC ratio and it is fantastic for muscle aches and inflammation from bruising or overwork. I have another called OmritaRx that is a 3-2 ratio and is wonderful for headaches. They both produce a very mild high for 15-20 minutes and then it goes away leaving a very satisfied feeling. The ACDC is outdoors right now so I can't say for sure what it's effect will be. I have two other strains that I developed with a co-conspirator than initially tested well for CBD and they are outside awaiting flowering. It's not just about high cbd levels. There is harlequin out there that tests @ 15% thc. It's total garbage. High cbd levels don't mean shit unless it has thc mixed in with it. The best ratio is 2-1 thc-cbd or even 1-1 imo.
The only thing strains with 1-2 thc-cbd ratios are good for is making concentrates IMO. When you make high cbd strains into wax the thc level will usually get multiplied 3-5 times. So a strain with 20% thc will end up around 80% thc when made into wax. But the cbd % doesn't seem to multiply that much. It usually only doubles or triples. So if you start off with buds that are 6% thc 15% cbd, you end up with a wax that is around 30% thc 30% cbd, which is fire!
Also when growing high cbd strains from seeds, a smart move is to get your seedlings tested in advance before flowering them. Labs can now create cannabinoid profiles from leaves of plants that haven't even been in flowering yet. They can not tell you the exact thc and cbd percentages the buds will end up as since that is largely dependent on how it's grown, but they can tell you the ratio of thc to cbd the plant will produce.
So basically you just grow out the seedlings into moms, get each mom tested. Then you only flower clones from the mom with the thc-cbd ratio you're looking for. That will save you a lot of fail if you do it that way.
Dr. Courtney grew out 17 seeds of cannatonic and did find a huge range of ratios. He is a big proponant of dietary cannabis and so is looking for strains that will deliver medical benefits without any 'high'. He did, at one time, have some 1-1 strains of the cannatonic but I don't know if he kept it.Other than Jamaican lion, cannatonic is the only other high cbd strain I would grow. IMO the only thing the pheno that has the 20% thc / 1% cbd is good for is making salve. But I'm still trying to get my hands on the 1-1 pheno of it.
Cannatonic is a great strain because unlike others like harlequin and Omrita rx, cannatonic is a true top shelf strain. No matter what pheno you get, it pretty much always has a total cannabinoid content around or above 20%, assuming it is being grown in optimal conditions. I'm a huge fan.
Thanks for the good info.

I just picked up a cannatonic x sour tsu cross in seed form. I can't wait to grow them out and hunt for a 1-1 or 2-1 thc pheno!Dr. Courtney grew out 17 seeds of cannatonic and did find a huge range of ratios.
