Theres def a problem with this plant. It's not doing well at all...it's becoming quite pitiful...if it's not rootbound I don't know what to think, no signs of def, no signs of nutrient toxicity...just sad looking
you can bet all your plants are "root bound".........transplanting is just gonna make it grow bigger you should try growing it under the light

Does it make sense to raise the light further away from my plants that are thriving to accommodate a plant that will prob be a hermie anyway? I think this one has got to be pretty severe...when I water it's coming out the bottom pretty quickly...

These two plants are receiving equal amounts of light...one is on the left of the box the other is on the right...light is centered with triploid in the middle

He is right about the transplant-- I had a little short plant that stayed small BC I kept it in a small smart pot (which are AWESOME. for anyone growing in soil I highly recommend). It was only like a 12 inch plant with 1 top and really tight internodal spacing. I figured it would just be 1 big bud.

I transplanted from a 1 gallon to a 3 gallon to make sure the roots had plenty of room to grow to sustain flowers. After transplanting, it stopped budding (even under 12/12) and shot to like 3 feet tall in 2 weeks. It was incredible, I wound up having to take it out of my tent BC there wasn't space, and had a buddy take it outside to his spot. Matter of fact, I need to ask him what the hell is up with that plant it should be finished by now. He'd better not be pulling a fast one on me, lol

no it wouldn't but we don't know that's gonna happen either........ I would tie it down............you can transplant if you want just be prepared for a growth spurt.........root bound can be a good thing

Yeah...I was supposed to tie it down last week...
Ok...I understand what your saying. I was just thinking that BECAUSE of the excessive growth during the stretch that it may have grown excessive roots at that time too...So I shouldn't be concerned about the quick runoff and quick drying out? It always looks thirsty...

If it is root bound and you don't want to up pot you will need to water it more often as though it is hydro. Remember, the more plant you see above ground, the more roots you don't see below ground. If you do up pot, you might wind up with a plant like one of mine.. 42.5 inches tall after the 11.5 inch stretch!

Has it started drooping yet? You could always set it back a bit by up potting/topping it and use the top as a clone... And before you say it... Yes you can clone successfully you just have to try and try again!! Or you could throw it away and pop another seed.

Stretchier plants have a lower transpiration rate, then the healthier plants with tighter nodes. She's rootbound? That shouldn't be to much of a problem, as woody mentioned. Especially if you have limited space. Bonzai her, and maybe run a water dep test to see how often she's thristy. Water then wait for the lowest fan leaves to droop, then log the amount of time. Plants can handle drought like conditions, better than they can being waterlogged. Ph your next plain watering before you pour, then test the runoff. For soil 6.8 +/- .3 is the butter zone. If the runoof is too high or low, you'll want to correct the difference next time you feed/water. My 2 pesos.

if I told you not to it was because I assumed you would raise the light........figured you could bend em and tie em when it was done stretching ..... transplanting isn't a bad idea but the others will be jealous

I water by weight...her pot is always the lightest one...guarantee you when lights come on this evening and I lift her pot it will feel like it's full of air!! Lol...I do need to tie her down but I wonder if that's going to be enough...I guess I'll give it a couple days and see if she perks up...no room for her to get bigger...she won't fit in the new cabinet as it is...
Oh and I always pH everything I put in...any time I check runoff pH it seems to be right on the money...
