Strange time for a dude

I have a plant that I just took down. I posted several times before harvesting, to get help with the timing. On one of the latest posts, a person noticed newly developing seeds. I looked closer around the plant and found many more seeds were forming, so it motivated me to take the plant immediately.
These seeds showed up very late in the game, meaning, like it was the later side of the harvest window.
Today while trimming the bud I noticed that there are many many seeds on this plant. They were not there in the beginning. This was definitely a female.
The resulting buds have already been tried / smoked and it is very good pot and provides a very nice experience.
So I have a question which is, " does anybody know why these seeds came so late in the game and why they came on this female".
I am just curious and still trying to learn all about growing weed.
A follow-up question is is there any reason for me to be concerned about these young seeds, that I have cut out of the plant while trimming. Can they cause a problem for the next plant to probably won't come for several months.

One possibility is that someone nearby was growing a male or had herm issues. But it's most likely that one of your plants hermed. (hermaphrodite = male and female in the same plant.

Generally it's caused by stress but I think of it as a sliding scale - some plants will trigger with no stress at all, while others can withstand huge amounts and still not herm.

Me personally, I would eradicate any trace of herms including those seeds. Since pollination happened late, they're probably not fully ripe/viable anyway.

Think of it this way - breeders make selections for desirable traits that they want in their strain. If they want purple, they select purple parents. And since you are the breeder here, you just selected for the "self pollinates and goes seedy" trait. Some people have grown good plants from such seed though.
