Love bikes as much as I love weed and music.

Started with a 89 Yamaha FZR 1000 at age 17. Only bike I've ever dumped with normal riding, wobble of death if any of you know what that is. Went to a 90 FZR 600, yes 600, to learn more before I stepped back up to the 1000 club, had that for 2-3 years along with a cbr 600 I did stunts on during that silly phase. Rode a friend's black 92 GSXR 1100 and in a few minutes I knew what my next bike would be.
In 94 I bought a new GSXR 1100. Had that for 3 years until I rode a 750 and bumped down to that cc with a new blue and white one in 99. Keep that going with many mods until the 05 GSXR 1000 model which is probably my all time favorite year and size. Currently own the 25th anniversary 2010 GSXR 1000. It will be my last.
I'm no longer evading police and taunting death, as much. But sportbiking will always be in my blood. Every spring I get the fever, my dick gets hard and one ride on her is better then any pussy I've ever gotten. (not really)

I never understood the stunt riding as much. Yes I learned tricks and stunts early on, even had a stunt bike long before most were doing it(1993) but for me from about 94 to present I love nothing more then top speeds, winding curves and long highway trips. I dread putting through town with full leathers looking like I have nowhere to go. I grew out of the stunt/showoff phase quickly. Tricks are for kids, but to each their own. You have to show your low speed skills sometimes I guess.

And yes, sportbikes can do 200 mph + I've done it with all my near stock 1000s. Anyone who has been in the 1000 club know this. My nephew's friend was actually the jackass that got the 200 mph+ speeding ticket in MN. He told me he wasn't even doing 180.

Love the Ghost Rider Series. That shit is insane and that's what I liked to do at my level. Would of loved to learn and ride with those guys.

STAY SAFE FELLOW BIKERS! A lot of shitty drivers out there.

SHARE THE ROAD.

been riding bikes since i was old enough to sneak outa the house on my sisters scooter lol, absolutely love em. i started off with a cb750f (in limited edition blue and white) and had a lot of nice bikes through the years. the only thing i would change would be crashing my lovely gsxr, fucking myself up and losing my license :(

speed + not paying attention = pain and expense (aint maths fun lol)

600 is thee best cc to start with. All sportbikes are light as hell now but the 600 is the perfect engine to learn on. Very forgiving and much easier to excel on safety compared to a 1000. Make a goal of mastering your first 600 before you move up to the 1000 club.

What would I have changed if I could go back in time? I would of not been such an asshole at age 19 to my then girlfriend who left me because I chose my friends over her. She is a doctor now, big bucks an dis still HOT. A bike, at least in those days, hell any era, does things to a guys brain, and dick. I was a manwhore on two wheels, back then you'd have to be Rocky Dennis of Mask to not get pussy on a regular basis with a sportbike. But I did grow up quickly and by age 22-23 I was in a 1000 club riding with people who knew how to ride hard.

And in a way being up north here was great because when spring got here after 8 months of winter(really 5 months felt like 8) it was like being a virgin again. Prepping the bike up a good month before the roads are ride-able, making plans for rides here and there, grabbing new leathers and parts, then that first day comes and there is nothing like it. I have never experienced the natural high I get from this doing anything else. And I've done a lot.

Fall and winter coming, depression will set in, weed really helps with this.

You know I've never crashed because of not paying attention but I got my one and only speeding ticket because of that. Trying to catch up to a girl in town, didn't even see the unmarked police car pass me as I canned it to 55 in a 30. Just as I was ready to catch up to her I see red lights. Rush hour, plates visible, I had to bite my tongue and take a fucking ticket. Had the option to erase ticket from insurance record if I attended stupid scared straight speeding class, watched a death film about accidents, listened to some cop lecture about speeding, left and within 15 seconds I was on the highway doing 120.

Sounds like you got a reckless and over 80 mph in a 55?

Be careful with the 600 bikes my man. One mistake with throttle control and you'll understand why. I would never suggest a liter bike as a first bike.

I'd suggest a Ninja 650 or a Suzuki GS500F..both sportbikes but WAY more forgiving than a 600 for a beginner. They hold value pretty well. Learn on one for a season and you'll recoup most of your $ when you trade up to a bigger bike.

Is this thread fast stuff only, or can a Pork Pilot play? My last bike was an '03 Harley FLHT. Faster than the line at the DMV, more powerful than a Prius with a bad valve, able to leap tall speed bumps in a single bound. But the good ship took me all around the country! My motto was "velvet wrist, tungsten tush". cn

Started off on a 73 Yamaha RD350 in my sophmore year in high school....man was that a fun little piece of shit....currently ride an 07 Honda CBR1000RR that's made for the straights(slammed and stretched 3")...can't even roll through parking lots for the fear of encountering a fkn speed bump...it's like a wall for my bike....but she's the love of my life...well, next to the wife and kid...haha
As for what to start out on...that's up to you...only you will know whats comfortable for your ability...Just because you've rode dirtbikes your whole life doesn't mean you're ready for the street with tons of power..If "0" street experience then opt for an old shitter like I did and rat-rod it...sickness.......and most importantly, always be scared of the bike you're on...the second you think you could bitch slap the bike you're straddling, she'll fuck your day up in a heartbeat....it's a respect kinda thing i guess.
I do agree that 600's can get away from you quick if you're not ready....have a buddy that rides...well rode a 09 ZX6R that was practicing launching at every fkn redlight he encountered.....lets just say his butt is a little rashed up at the moment...haha
Just remember"It's all in the wrist"... You tell that bike what to do and how fast to do it....just be safe with whatever you choose!

I started off on a 500 Ninja that I actually still have 10 years later. It is in the process of being redone in a streetfighter style after the accident I had on it 8 years ago. Sat in my garage all those years and fired right up! My current ride is a '00 R6 jetted with a full race exhaust. I have had that bike for 7 years now. Beautiful blue and white. There really is something to be said about getting out on the open road and enjoying the ride! I do have a problem with speed though. She always manages to go over 100 every time I hit the streets. I have had it up to 165 on the highway and that was a RUSH!!!

Liter bikes are a little overkill to start out with. They are tons of fun, but you should get the basics down before having that much power at the flick of the wrist. Have fun and be safe! Depending on your location, now is the time to look at bikes. End of season is quickly approaching around here so deals are to be had!
