Street Weed vs Home Grown

In IL it was $60+tax for an eighth when dispos opened in 2020

It's now ~$80 out the door for some anonymous micro buds

Absolutely insane but they stay busy

Same at that place sometimes the line is through the parking lot some days…. Blows my mind in a home cultivation state

Is that tangie bobanjie crossed with orlando mombo gator skunk? IDK smoke it and see. It's a roulette when you didn't grow it buying it from a dispo grown by commercial facilities/greenhouses or a street dealer selling their grandmas closet weed.

are those prices for shake? How horrible can weed be for $20 an Oz. If it's actual buds.
The $20 ounces are going to be the low end leafy buds. I've seen and smoked some of the $60 ounces and it's probably better than half the burnt to a crisp and harvested early stuff many on the forums post pictures of after spending $1000 on grow lights and other equipment to end up with a few ounces from a couple autos.

You also have to realize that the vast majority of people buying at the dispensaries are not the pot snobs you see on the forums either. They just want to get high and don't care if some pot snob on a forum calls it mids. Not everyone smokes daily and if they can buy a bag for $60 that gets them high and will last them months then they're happy.

You read posts from people slamming on dispensary weed and then you look at their grows and some of the stuff they harvest isn't nearly as good as what you can get at a dispensary. Oregon prices are low because there's still well over a half million pounds of surplus that's sitting around. Growers that are giving up because they can't make a profit are just dumping their stuff for whatever they can get for it and moving on.

Idk if I'm still a noob cutting my teeth or what, but my stuff has always been one or two hit and quit for me. The street stuff here is from 240-440 an oz. And I can't tell a difference in potency between them. The 440 is a little prettier to look at but in the grinder it looks the same lol. So it all depends on the person growing the home grown. If that person takes it serious and gets good genetics and actually tries to grow some killa or if they just want to grow weed and make $ and don't give a shit.

Maybe its just me and I know how to pick the gd stuff off the street. On the street top shelf is $150oz for me. Folks paying $40/8th ,$300/oz. Its way better then most of the stuff I grow. I've had some proud poppa moments when strains taste and potency were up to my high standards. I have yet to pay top dollar for gd seed genetics so that might change when I get some truly exotic beans.
I get so much quantity from growing that I can just trade up for the street stuff I want and save money all around. Even if I give them 2 zips for 1 of some stuff I don't like its a win.

Dispensary weed is hit or miss just like the street. If u don't pick the rt strain u will be disappointed. Ive had top shelf leave me not impressed and I've had cheap weed surprise me. I've been flavor chasing over the last year. It can be strong as hell but if the flavors don't have my lips smacking I don't appreciate it. When it taste gd I can be smacked and still fire up another j. :bigjoint: bongsmilie:eyesmoke:

I'm not cannabis sommelier or anything like that so as long as it don't make me cough with a good decent draw off a joint and isn't harsh I'm good. Don't get me wrong I don't want it to taste bad or anything I just don't chase flavor. (Yet lol)

Both street and store bought here have dissappointed me more often than my own grow. Knowing I am independent of those sellers gives me a type of security and satisfaction since I am not at the mercy of someone elses grow.

My quality is as good and sometimes better than either of the above............and I sometimes buy it for variety
But I keep on growing-
