Stretch and when to flower

I am growing for strictly personal use. Looking to do one grow for the year (12 oz or so would be plenty) and I currently have 5 fem plants. 4 is the legal limit flowering limit for me. Plants are Banana Kush. I am trying to understand how much growth to expect in flowering. Tent is 4x4 and will be cleared to 4 plants for flowering.

Im not in a rush so I am happy to keep them vegging for a while longer but I also don't want to end up with a jungle.

2 of the plants are larger than the others as they were started a week earlier to test conditions. Plants are very compact so far, about a node every inch.

What should I expect for growth in flowering and when should I consider starting flowering?

Do you plan to supercrop or use LST? Going to use a SCROG?

LST mostly. Already training most of them.

I'd plan to do 2-3 grows a year. As you go you'll start smoking closer to a oz a week not a oz a month. Plus erb can be "less good" the older it gets. And try to get about 3 flavors. You'll def have rotating favorites

I suggest you think about SCROG for flower.

If u live by a fred meyers and they carry the little green scrog screens that fit 1 plant nicely I have a couple I'm flowering with in a 4x3 tent and of I were u I would veg at least 3 -4 weeks still.. with four plants in a 4x4 I veg month and half 2 months then flip .but different strains stretch a lot more than others good luck ...here are those screens I found at fred Meyer I could also just build something similar there good because u still get the scrog but can move the plants around still

I have netting but im never SCROG a plant before. I use nets with vines primarily. I have LST many non-cannabis plants of so I figured I was better off sticking to what I know. Basically is mediocre SCROG really better than good LST?

Um. Thanks but I've been smoking for a while. Even went through a period when I smoked an oz a week. Oz a month in plenty for me, maybe even more than I need.

Ok. Just seems to me that whenever somebody starts growing their own the way they like it that the use goes up vs when they had to pay for it. Def not that way for everyone of course, just depends on the person. I still cant imagine WANTING to smoke 12 month old bud though..
Maybe consider smaller harvests a little more often if you really dont want more than 12 on hand.
Anyways good luck with it no matter what you decide

12 month old bud is fine. So long as it’s cured and stored properly. Flavour may not be up there for fresh off the plant and cured in a month. But it’s not terrible.

Ya I know it's not terrible, but I personally prefer to smoke stuff around the 1-4 month mark. I've had fine stuff a year old but it's the expection not the rule imo.

So LTS vs Scog and if a scog how full should it be before flowering?
