Stretching and LST

I am currently growing Short Ryder, it tends to be bushy with a short internodal length. Would it be benifical to cause the plant to stretch on purpose to alow for a "better" LST? As of right now the leaves seem to practically be growing in ontop of each other, in a sense cock blocking it's own leaves. It however is only now starting to grow it's 4th node, is this dense layering benificial? Probably should have posted this in newbie central. :dunce:

Any pics? Has branching started yet? It's just fan leaves that are layering, right? IMO, no, not beneficial to force "stretch". Keep bushy. Less stress on plant, IMO

Short RYDER.

I'm presuming an Auto.

Once it switches to its flowering response it should begin to stretch anyway.

I've had good luck with a SUGAR MANGO RYDER using LST during its auto stretch transition to control height and force it outwards rather than upwards as I was vegging some photos and didn't want the auto to outgrow them.

I wouldn't worry right now and just watch what happens during transition.

No branching yet, one node is farther away from the other because I had a reflector plate underneath the plant itself(to try and prevent evap of my res and keep its temp low.)
Lol i have been jumping back and forth spelling it ryder and rider all night. Around when did that transition come about exactly?20141015_220042.jpg
Keep in mind that this is my first grow, and it is in a 10" netpot in a 5gal DWC bucket, so a bit of hand watering has been happening. Today is it's 3rd week bday from seed.
Get's new res water as a gift.
