Strong smell in Veg

So I am about 3 weeks into Veg from sprout and my plants are starting to put out a strong bud smell, these are all regular seeds so I know there will be some males in there. I'm just curious if this is normal or not?

I am going to put them into flower in about a week or two, all my plants are 7"-9" Tall. As for strain I am clueless. I got these from a friend and He said they were the "free" seeds that were thrown in an order he recently made.

plants smell, so do flowers, and herbs, and other vegetable plants

thats what they do, some strains smell more than others.

Okay that's what I assumed. Will the males smell too? I was hoping that this would be a good sign that a have several good females in the batch.

They will all smell, male or female, ull have good sign of female during Preflower hopefully

When does "Pre-Flower" happen? Like I said I am going to put them into flower in about a week or two. I've been keeping a close eye on them but I haven't seen any signs of Pre-Flower.

Preflower will happen when you switch to 12/12. Plants will show sex, make their last stretch, double or triple in size and start making bud sites then your 8-12 weeks from there till finish. Good luck!

@Newtoweed1 do you have a carbon filter for flower yet? put some pictures up when you get a chance.

I'm not too worried about the smell, I just didn't expect to smell it so soon. And absolutely. I'll get some good pics and put them up soon.

Don't mind the slight droop, there light goes out in above a half hour. There just getting ready for bed lol.

A strong smell in veg is a good thing. my gg4 does that. heres a pic just to show off some bud. end of week 3 of flower

That looks awesome! Hopefully I can bud up something like that. Good job man! The stronger the smell gets the more excited I get. Lol

damn that GG#4 is stacked at 3weeks. I wish i could get a cut, oh well just have to keep drooling at you guys on here.

it puts off really dense buds. I'm surprised. I am running a sea of green for my next crop and was going to run purple berry but now its a toss up between PB and GG4
