studying while stoned

thoughts/feelings?

some ppl think it helps, some ppl would never do it.

it def helps me get past writers block but if its late at all makes me wanna

I do it. If I really have to cram though, which I do often, then no weed, and lotsa coffee.

I cant study on anything but groovy stuff whilst stoned. Music, colors, good looking women...ya know?

I couldnt comprehend studying, like school studying at all.

I can't study while high...just can't concentrate. It's 100 other things I'd rather be doing.

If I was working on writing assignments and smoke I find that I finish about 3 times as fast but it's jubberish in the morning.

Yes dude, there is not possible way on gods green earth that I could understand Gibbs Free energy and Electrochemical stoichiometry unless I was blazed. That goes for creative writing and foreign languages as well.
Not so much with calculus or statistics though.

I find that I study longer and retain information longer while doing it high, IDK, it just seems to make things more interesting to me.

i love weed, but i'd be a fool and a liar to say that i can concentrate better and retain more information while under the influence of mj. most people in here that say they can do it are probably exaggerating or flat out lying. studying on a sober, rested mind > studying under the influence of marijuana.

people forget that weed does some what effect short term memory. that shit would make studying and retaining anything impossible.

to those who say they do, stop lying

Somewhat? Sometimes Ill call someone, and as its ringing I'll forget who I just called lol. Or Im watching TV, and it will go to commercial, and Ill realize I already forget what I was just watching

haha, but for some ppl it can help you to focus a little, depends on the person i would say

Well.. I wasn't a smoker when I was in institution schooling.. those years of high school I homeschooled myself.. so it was never 'forced education'.. (i.e. I didn't study things I didn't want to at times I didn't want to).. I am seriously an information junkie and am 'studying' most whenever I can... those possible variables aside.. I seriously retain information better whilst high and prefer to study things high.. my creativity and critical thinking is also improved.. I design and sew clothing from home as a side business, and seriously smoking is a must when I'm busting ass working, I get extremely focused and 'in the zone'.. it's when my best work comes out.. lol..

I do really well studying while high.

my brain is on constant hyper-drive so when I smoke weed it chills me out so I can focus better. also helps with innovative ideas

Pot helps me study like no other. Smoke a J, drink a cup of coffee, put on my headphones and I'm good to go. After what seems like 15 minutes i've covered 50 pages and have a 150 card stack of notecards. Writing a paper is completely different though. Cant write a structured scientific paper stoned for the life of me. But if its a class like history of art or literature or poetry then its a different story.

I cannot. Redbull however thats a different ballgame. I can read whole text books hopped up on the stuff

I cant study stoned / do anything functional - my mind wanders off to video games, and getting blowjobs, and watching movies.

I did however get totally ripped one night, forgot I had a 4 page paper due the next day about a movie / book we were discussing until I came home at 2 in the morning stoned, a little buzzed and a bag full of Taco Bell. Realizing that I had no other option I sat down and typed it out and went to bed. Woke up late the next day and didnt have time to proofread so I read on my walk to class - didnt remember typing any of it. Turned it in and hoped for the best. He hands it back a week later COVERED in red ink. With a big 100/100 on the top. All of the writing was praising me on obscure and insightful connections that he had never made or seen in 20+ years of instructing that book / movie. It was the only A I got in his class.

Back in my University days, i was always stoned... Always maintained a very high grade average.

The key to studying stoned is to make sure you take the test stoned. My Prof's (at least a few of them) knew I was high, but I would ace the tests so...what could they say? I got high with my Philosophy professor once...that was trippy.

I have to disagree. It is most certainly NOT impossible. When I study when I am high, I find that I am more interested in the material and spend much more time going over details and thinking into things, which allows me to retain it well. On the other hand, when I am not high, I can still study well, just not as far in depth as I would under the influence. That is just my view though, which you are obviously are unable to relate to.

that doesn't work for me. i can't do differential equations well while ripped. it takes me forever to do one problem. i have two friends on the other hand that go to class ripped everyday, study high, test high, everything ripped. i can't do that. i'd be failing all of my classes

I agree with this. I feel the same way completely.

It depends on the weed. If it's some potent herb, I can't do much more than stare at my ceiling. But if I'm smoking nothing more than mids to feel good, I can certainly sit down, smoke, and study. There's this whole thing called state-dependent learning that says if you study high, you'll remember it high. Just keep that in mind when you're preparing for a test. Study high, take the test high, get high grades!

I've smoked my way through a 3.75 GPA, with the hopes of increasing it next year. It'll be good times, man. I love college.
