stunted growth? strange discolorations

Hi everybody. I have these guys I planted from bagseed. They seem to me to be a real skunky indica variety, but I don't know what.

They're about six weeks old, started in sandy loam then repotted into larger pots 2 1/2 weeks ago with MG organic fertilized soil. They're under a decent amount of cfl, they're warm and I give them occasional CO 2, as best I can, although it's a sorta ghetto stealth grow and the cabinet does not seal that well. After repotting, they were looking just fine, taking off, seeming happy.

Now this. By and large, three of the four plants are droopy looking. The leaf nodes are very close together. While the leaves look dark, firm and healthy to me (I'm colorblind) on closer inspection, the top baby leaves are rather pale, and upper leaves have some purple in them. I'm not sure how clearly this has come out in the photos (crappy camera).

Let's see here:

MG soil is not good for growing weed. It has time release nutes that will overfeed and eventually burn your plants. I know it's winter and home depot stores don't have any other soil, but check out a hydro store and you'll be amazed. Simple potting soil for flowers + 30% perlite is just perfect.

Because of the extra nutes, your plant looks overfed. I don't know if you can tell, but when the veins are darker or as dark as the rest of the leaf and new growth is considerably lighter in color comapred to older leaves, overfeeding becomes a prime suspect, although not always the culprit. I'm saying this because that looks like a strong indica and some indicas tend to show a strong, dark green. Eighterway, change the soil, or you'll start to notice that leaves will yellow because of the high nute concentration in the soil.

You may also be overwatering, since those tips look a tad droopy.

Except for overfeeding and overwatering, there don't seem to be any other reasons why your plants should not be gaining height.

I'm afraid the soil looks more acid now than it did when I first potted the plants. It was strictly alkaline. Either i was mistaken in testing or the time release thing happened (although I'm not sure about the time-release aspect of their Organic soil blend).

This could also have something to do with using chlorinated water. I was careless about watering (or over-watering, as it were) with tap water I'd not allowed to stand and evaporate chlorine. Perhaps this had something to do with it.

I see that I'm going to have to change a few things.

Well, there's your problem. Chloride is extremely toxic to seedlings and burns roots so that growth is stunned and nute absorption is minimized. Best to keep water 24h at room temp for the chloride to evaporate.

I don't really know if MG organic has time release nutes, but you should definitely check, and if it does, transplant.
