Stunted white hairs on some of bud sites

Im into week 3 of flowering on my first grow. Everythings great except at some bud sites, the white hairs are stunted. Id say 70-80% of bud sites look awesome. The other 30-20% have stunted white hairs. Not sure what this means or if its just normal.

I really appreciate any help. Thanks guys!

get out a microscope or a good magnifying glass and look for nanners, often what you describe can be a sign that that particular pistil has been pollinated.

Are the stunted hairs on top? Could be heat shriveling them. Pictures would help a lot. Could look on bottoms and middles of plant for a male pod.

I've had (and have) this same situation myself. I've never figured it out. It was never due to pollination. I have read that buds go through cycles putting out new pistols while some die-off. I always assumed that was the cause but who knows?

yea there's no way they got pollinated. and its just certain ones on lower levels of the plant. all the ones on the main cola look great. one of my two girls stretched on me and shes got more of these stunted hairs. my other (best looking) has few of these bud sites with them. maybe it is due to the different cycles? although ive only heard of the thc crystals going through cycles i.e clear, cloudy and amber. im sure they will still be awesome. any continued advice is still much appreciated!

It's funny that you mention that. I have two plants that really stretched and they have much leafier buds and more of the stunted looking pistols.

Maybe not enough light then? Since stretching is in part caused by light. Could it be your night time temps? Higher lights out temps can cause plants to be weaker and stretch.

i have high temps when my lights are on. my night time temps drop real nice (not too much). There's enough light because the one that stretched was going to grow right into the one light i have above it so i was forced to raise it.

i would post pics but i honestly dont feel safe doing so.

Explain what you mean by stunted pistils. Have they gone brown to early? Shriveled up? Short answer is, pistils are VERY fragile and will go brown if you look at them wrong... Any touch, too much wind, heat, low humidity, spray, all can make pistils turn brown. The good part is, it really doesn't matter at all in terms of your final product. They'll all be brown when your done anyway, and as long as you are able to confirm there is no root cause, you're fine.

simply hittin a hair will stunt it...i notice alot of red/stunted haris near the edges of my canopy, where i walk around and bang shit up like gozilla, aha, if no herms, dont trip

thanks guys. yea when i was in there today the stunted ones have started to turn that amber colour. i think its cause when i rotate the pot around to water, they hit the sides and the other plant. i was never too worried. just wanted to see if there was anything i could do. thanks again!
