Stupid bong question

Hey all.
Ive seen larger bongs for sale but have never bought one, i always stick to something easily hidden or transportable.

What is the bigger difference and do ash catchers really work better, those things are like 70 bucks out here.

Any info is appreciated, thank you.

I dont need a big bong because I don't have an ego. That and my lady likes my bong, gets the job done and she's happy

in all seriousness though. Ash catchers work! No need for more than 1, maybe 2.

Other than that you would be paying for mere looks and over hyped function

The longer the bong doesnt always mean the coolest and purest-

I recommend a standard 1 1/2 feet to 2 feet bong. aint no need for other kind of shit unless you want.

I have a dirty Rico 20 slit mushroom and it's about a foot tall and I wouldn't change anything about it ash catchers are great because they help your bong stay cleaner longer but other than that I don't see much of the point in one and they can add a good amount of drag to your bong if you don't buy ont that was well made "if it's not broken don't fix it"

Pretty much what Turbo said. I personally stay away from ash catchers, I keep my bong clean so a little ash in the water doesn't bother me, it's getting rinsed anyway. I have a Hurricane and I hate the way it hits with an ash catcher, just way too much drag, hits 1000x better without the ash catcher.

whats up dude! I'll give you my first hand experience as a bong smoker. Ive had 6 bongs, both big and small.
Right now I am centered on a system by Grav Labs called Staxalot which I personally love. You literally make your bong piece by piece. Their glass is amazing.

I have a lot of their pieces so Ive experienced the differences first hand that adding a percolator, ash catcher or even changing the top does to a hit.
Here is where I see it, The more attachments your bong has, the cooler and smoother the smoke will be. However, the more attachments, the more drag each hit will have.
Since you asked about ash catchers, I will tell you Why I personally love them. Their purpose like the name states, is to prevent ash from entering your main water chamber. They also help keeping the rest of your bong cleaner. But the main reason I love them, they allow me to gauge my hit. Usually with a straight natural base or even beaker base, its hard to really see how big the hit is. With the ash catcher, I find that I am able to find the perfect amount to take in every time for a constant quality rip.

When i smoke on my own i always use my smaller bong, but when sharing with friends we usually use one of the larger ones.
Its simply cooler to smoke from a large bong (personal preference) and the benefit of the larger bongs is that they usually hold more weed, making it easyer to share a smoke with your friends
Cleaning any bong is a hassle. Ash catchers definately do work very well!

Ok, guess im in the market for something new, im the only one who really uses a bong, everyone else twists one up and since that hurts my lungs im going to make my investment then,,,LOCK IT UP. LOL

check out Phire. bongs.. i have a Phire legacy triple perc. and a ash catcher...(well had a ash catcher) my lady busted it then tried to hide it but whatever.


cleaning takes about 10 min.. definitely get alot of rubbing alcohol. and plain mortons iodized salt... add both and shake profusley untill its clean (rinse with hot water after shaking untill clean). may take a couple repeatings. at least for my phire it does.. especially after smoking wax out of it... but it looks brand new every time.

My bong is just a regular bong about a ft tall, super good glassy, spewing I'm out of weed or I would be smoking right now.

Ive had bongs of all sizes and types over the years. Big bongs are nice for taking huge rips and getting loaded quick. But since I dont have the iron lungs I used to have a stick to a smaller bong. Mine now is about a foot and a half. Bought my first ash catcher years ago and have used them since. Looks cool and makes cleaning a breeze.
