Where i live everyone complains about the drivers here. I wonder why.. I have been hit 3 times (all walking or on a bike), one of them was today. Went to the store to get sum energy drinks and have a chill day. Got hit by sum idiot while I was crossing the street when it was MY turn to go with a RED light.. :wall: time to get stupid stoned on sum hash n not move all day lol.

Ouch man. That's rough. Sure that hash will do the trick. From what ive seen all drivers are bad but California is the only state I've been to where the construction of the roads promote that. :eyesmoke:

If your in the USA, a lot of people get rich from accidents like that. I am not saying it is right or wrong, but if someone who was not paying attention to the road hits you due to negligence, you are due compensation for your expenses, loss of work, pain and suffering.
I am not one who has the law suit mentality, but if I am hurt due to anothers reckless behavior, I expect to be compensated.
I am also the first to say sometimes accidents happen for no reason. If it is just a simple accident, as long as their insurance makes me whole again, it's just a simple accident aka shit happens to me.

Im in canada. Most the times iv been hit it hasnt been to bad this one was probly the worst my hips swolen n scraped up n my elbow but thats bout it. its not really anythn serious most the time i see them coming n can get outa the way a bit. My bike took most of it cuz i saw it coming if i didnt jump off i woulda been under the car. the hood mostly just bumped me n then i got road rash. for the amount of damage thats been done to me its honestly not worth the trouble to try and sue someone.

At the same time, whether they say money buys happiness or not, it certainly can buy you a longer life. So in some cases, suing might be the appropriate method of action, it's going to suck when your 55+ years old & the medical problems from your earlier hits start to soak in. You can get those things fixed before they become long-term problems or at least reduce the long-term damage by a significant %. Just saying. Lol.

Edit, money can also buy you a shorter life, depending on how you spend it. Lol, just figured I'd be fair about the statement.

I agree in some cases it would be appropriate. But in this case a few scratches is nothing I cant deal with without ruining someone elses life over some money. Now if it was a broken leg or rib then itd be a different story. I know what its like with the medical problems harming you later on in life. I lasorated my spleen mountain biking 4 yrs ago and its been bugging me ever since, probly getting worse actually? lol. luckily i didnt get hit on the left side..

Well yeah, I understand that, I thought you were implying that you've taken some damage over a length of time from these assholes. My "high" misinterpretation lol. But that's a cool way to think dude, I'm the same way, not trying to ruin anyone's life over small shit, karma can suck.

I got clipped by a car when I was on a motorcycle many many moons ago when I was a teenager. In town, I am driving and a car is waiting to pull out of a parking lot. He turns his head, I see the whites of his eyes so I assume he sees me...then he pulls out onto the road.
Hard and fast lean into the oncoming lane (no oncoming at the time), my rear tire got bumped and the bike was riding me for about 25 feet.
I'm in denim with a helmet and only got some road rash on my arm. The guy was quick to say it was his fault and wanted to take care of things without a report. I am fine, the bike is a little bent but drivable, and he followed me to the repair shop and paid for all repairs. No harm no foul but the next two weeks was painful. The adrenaline wore off and I felt every impact. Nothing that any doctor would only give aspirin for but you never know.
If you got injured on any joint bad enough but not bad enough for an ER visit, you can get arthritis bad that you may not have gotten. Or you may need a hip replacement later in life earlier than you would if you didn't get hurt way back when.
Think "what if later..." and if your happy, your happy. If not, you have choices.

No, I was a happy kid! No real injuries, I got my bike fixed the same day at no cost, and before I got clipped I was driving home after hand delivering my first insurance payment.
The pain was just a learning experience. Without knowing pain you can't appreciate happiness or joy. Sadly it takes a balance.
