So I made a newb mistake yesterday when I bought my cfl lights...i thought they were 40 watt...today reading some info on lighting I came accross the info on how the packages say "40 watt" but thats the equivalent of 9 watts....so ya, I went and dug out the packaging from the trash, sure enough
40 WATT9 watt equivalent So I have 3 plugged into a reptile fixture/reflector with another one in a desk lamp to the side 36 watts total, I have one plant thats 2 weeks/4 1/2" and three sproutlings just potted yesterday...can I get away with these lights for another 2 weeks till I get paid, or will my 2 weeker need more now? Thanks dudes...Z:leaf:

at best your plant will continue at the rate it's growing. At worst your plant will continue at the rate it's growing.

Get some stronger light on it as soon as possible.

well, I was just taking a closer look at the fixture and it says max 26 watts x 3...so thats 78 watts on top and I can put max 60 watt in the desk lamp fixtue, will this be enough? 130 watts for 4 plants????

i'd say no way, dude... figure out how many lumens the plants would be getting... it wouldn't be much... somewhere on this site are listed deficient, minimum, and ideal lumen levels per sqft. i've got a 400 watt mh on mine, and i even feel like having 4 mature plants under it might be pushing the limits...

but then again, i don't know shit about cfls...

cfl's are fine for sproutings or clones for about the first 2 weeks of veg but its definetly time to invest in some mh lights.. good luck man
