Stupid question about “flowering stage weeks”.

It’s a decent guideline for planning but not a set in stone number. There’s been times where I’ll have several of the same strain going and a 3 week difference in all of em.

I don't usually count, but when I do, I count from the end of the stretch.
That when I consider flowering to start. Until then it's more like budding.
I agree with that..
Flipping to 12/12 doesnt mean anything, especially if done prematurely. Pistils appear in veg so that is out as an indicator, but a good sign you can flip to 12/12 anytime.
They are really just done when they are done. If you are hung up on weeks, counting from the end of stretch is probably the most reliable.

Purp plants are so 2010 ….

Just run them as long as needed … no god damn ice baths or other “ stressors “ to fake the pheno.

Each plant is running on its own clock , even from the same batch - just keep them healthy and stress free to ensure good maturity.

Its that simple - No YT bullshit or Google misinformation.

Don’t forget; Sats have long flowering time.

Then you've either been harvesting early forever, or you've been remarkably lucky getting phenos with very, very short flowering times.
Most Indica varieties have a flowering period of 8 to 9 weeks, so I go for indica strains like purple kush(or indica dominant strains with a short flower).
In general they don't take 10 weeks to flower.
There so many strains that don't take 10 weeks to flower, so why not go for the shortest ones with a high yield, the ones with the best feed back on bud quality, highest thc.
I can spend weeks selecting my next strain I will grow.
Then i pick the best phenotype out the pack and stick with it for a year or two.

I was looking for a strong indica strain with a short flower, easy to grow and massive buds, not done one of these for a few years.
So i found a strain called Dr Krippling The Incredible bulk(Big Bud X Super Skunk X Green Spirit) ticks all the boxes, looks like a good stable strain.
