Styrofoam Chips?

I just ran out of my clay pellets and my local gardening store is out till monday, but i need to plant my germinated seed asap. Could i use sytrofoam chips as the medium in my basic wick system?

Dont you have a bit of dirt or rockwool or something to hold you over? Go to the store and buy some soil.
