I have the drip hooked up to a 55 gal drum. I turn the valve and let it run for about 15 min when it's time to water.

Just making my days easier!

Yeah, I learn like you do. Trial and error. I will write down the specifics so that I can see if te same starin does it again. Then trouble shoot from there.

Thanks for being you!

Not to answer for sub just passing along some knowledge. You can find small amounts (1 or 2 lbs) of Humic Acid Powder(non gran.) from Ebay just search it. Not a bad deal either, infact I got all my trace stuff there and 3 outta 4 companys coverd shipping, with slightly inflated prices I might add, but it always feels like your getting a deal when it says free shipping .

Just finished spending 3 hours plus mixing the living shit into (get it) my soil. I can't wait to use it, I've got lil JTR's dancing in my mind bongsmilie . My partner in crime aka Mom said I was crazy cuz I was blending alot of it by hand, But I like to really get to know my soil. I hate chunks of worm casting and soil so I break up even some of the smaller one's, what can I say I get all OCD with my soil. No chunks! no chunks! no chunks! ohh shit now im having cold sweats bongsmilie ahhh all better. Thanks again sub and

P.s. hey Sub do people on the west coast always comment on your southern accent? I'm from Texas I sound normal....till I leave the state, then I'm from the South all of a sudden lol fuck it we southern boys got green thumbs

Its not a huge requirment someone turned me on to humic so I use it you can simply add some a few times through watering.

I like Golden Humic Acid myself

You could also just mix up the granules and water your soil initially

for 20 years I was an HVAC estimator and when I would be in someones house spaeking when I said the word "Idea" they would always stop me and say " your from the south aren't you?" Id say I recon I am :)

American by Birth Southern by the Grace of God

I have to say I prefer the West Coast and proudly adopted the PNW as my home.

Hey Subcool, I just found this thread and it's chock full of information, thanks!!!
I think I'm going to make your soil mix but i have two questions.

1. I know that you shouldn't put clones or seeds straight into super soil, but at what age an you? I just want the plants to have as much super soil as they want. I was thinking 30-45 day old clones established in one gallon pots (with roots organic) could be put in 3 gallon pots with just the super soil, no extra base soil added as a buffer. Would this be okay?

2. About reusing the soil. I don't know if I read the post in this thread or another but I read one of your posts that says that you never use recycled soil from your cannabis plants on the next run. Have you at least tried this, did you find any successful method? I just read a thread where a guy said he's on at least the 4th/5th generation of recycling soil and it's working better than ffof. I figure with your soil it would get even better results.

Hey subcool! Thanks for giving us so much useful information, it's great to see a pro taking the time to pass on knowledge.

I'm going to make your super soil and I wondering a few things.

I know you can't put clones or seed straight into SS but at what age can you? I was thinking 30 day old clones in one gallon bags with roots organic could go straight into SS, will this work without burning?
Also what ammendments should be added when you recyle this soil? Or could you just reuse it after cooking for 30 days as a base soil? I hate buying expensive bags.

hey sub im a newbie and ganna set up my first grow around this soil. i was just wondering how many 10 gal pots 1 batch of soil will b good for? and how muh bud i can expect 2 get from one batch?

Hey Sub, quick question. I have a ro filter at home. Should I use that and just supplement the calcium with cal/mag? Should the ppms stay under 100 (like your well water)? Or should I just use my tap and let it sit over night? I think my tap is over 200 ppm so Im thinking about going with the ro water.

A batch of soil runs me 175$ roughly I cant see passing on problems in the next crop by re using soil many people do but we dump it on to mother earth :)

I am curious if anyone on this site has used Happy Frog Potting Soil for the base in the SS mix? Any comments or observations? Thanks!

Here are some plants grown in super soil. I used only plain water the whole grow with the exception of some sugars in flowering. The Strain is BTK Kush (Sub's Royal Revenge x La Confidential) I personally love this soil mix and I doubt I'll ever use anything else. The flavors produced and ease of growing are outstanding. Deffinately the easiest way to grow superior buds without the hassle.

BTK Kush A (every plant in the room was grown in super soil with no amendments)

Hello Everyone!

Introducing my self to the Forum, just another lover of the great plant. I'm super excited because my super soil is fermenting in the sun, not exactly made to subcool's recipe from the hightimes article. I had to use regular bat guano not "bloom bat guano" and I couldn't find any powdered humic acid so I ended up buying Botanicare Humega Natural and mixing it with my water before saturating the soil to ferment. I ended up using roots organic I hope my fruits come out good. Thanks Sub for spreading your knowledge to the world, we need more people like you in the world. Peace

Those buds look tasty. I just need rock phosphate and humic acid and I'm gonna start making a batch myself. Hoping it will work well with roots organic 707 as my base. All outdoor in Hawaii

Subcool, I have quick question. I am new to growing, grew up in an era where cultivation was a criminal act, it still trips me out that this is a legal endevor now. Anyway, the question.... is there a source where I can find your soil reciept with the names of the makers or each ingredient..... or does that even matter? It would be cool to have some brand names and take a look over their websites..... I love aquiering information.
