winter is starting to actually hit hard now and my grow boxes are in my basement.

Its chilly down there and I can't keep it warm in my veg box and my little buddha baby is yellowing from the chill.

I am too afraid to put a heat element in there for fear of you know...burning down the house.

I turned off the exhuast to see if that helps.

Anyone use any kind of small heating element?

What brand/kind?

I'm thinking a stand alone would work out.

Link me please!

you could try a heating element that would heat it indirectly.

For example, if your box is near a wall (stone wall prefferably) you could put the heater in between the box and the wall, but facing the wall instead of the box. That should be safe, but you may need more than 1 heater

good luck, i hope she makes it :leaf:

IF your using HPS lights that should heat ur boxes and give you a better grow :]... If you want to heat from a stand alone device im not sure what kind would be best but what you could do is get some sort of heating element get ducting with an inline fan so it will draw hot air from the heater and blow it into the box

last winter i grew a couple of plants in my closet and i didn't have any heat there so i put a heating pad i bought at the drugstore in there on a low setting and it did the trick. i don't know how many plants your growing or how big your veg place is but its something to consider just make sure you keep it in a dry place.

I only have 4 plants in the veg box (which is a converted dresser), I think I will try the heating pad idea. Thanks Gentlemen!

I don't know how big ur grow set up is but if u can, put a tent over it. Then ur heat will not dissipate away nearly as much

I'm am removing one CFL and replacing it with an incandecent bulb (spelling?) I have also turned off the exhuast, if I don't see an improvement in the yellow, I will then add a heating bad. I don't think a tent will help because 1. it is a pretty thick box to begin with and 2. CFLs arent producing enough heat to matter anyways. I went down there yesterday and there was a ladybug just hanging out on the bulb.

I hate when the babies get sick.
