I'm growing in dirt, and I'm near harvest time. I dont have molasses. Could I just use sugar the last couple waterings? And if so, how much?

Sugar doesn't have the micro-nutrients or carbs and processed white sugar isn't good. Don't ask me why but I have read numerous times that reg sugar is not good. If you do decide to use just sugar water, then use the raw sugar. For what its worth, it is easy enough to get blackstrap molasses. Why mess with the tried and true.

True, true. Thanks alot for the info. About how much molasses is generally used?
Not too much, about a Tblspn. (1/2 oz.) / gallon of water should do it!

If you're about to harvest and haven't used molasses at all yet, then only a few days of it will probably make no difference whatsoever. Especially since you should be giving it water only at this point. The purpose of molasses is to feed the mycorrhizal fungus on the roots that allow more nutrient exchange between the soil and the plant. I wouldnt waste my time if i were you.

You could use it the entire life of the plant if you want but i think most ppl start using it when they start flowering in about every other watering. Other than possibly a few very scarce nutes, molasses does nothing for the plant. Its all for feeding the microorganisms that are associated with the root and the soil. They help in nute exchange and get bigger with more carbs. These carbs normally come from the plant. When the mo's get bigger there is more surface area for the microorganism and the root to exchange more nutes. Other microorganisms in the soil unlock unusable nutes for the plant.
