was wondering what effects sugar water would have on my flowering plants. towards the end of flowering now, was gonna start flushing in a week or two. can i alternate between straight water and sugar water during my flush? would it have any negative effects on the bud?

Sugar water is a very bad idea. It will draw ants and other pests and is not beneficial to your plants. You should try unsulphured black strap molasses on your next grow. I have during every one of my grows and my girls love it. If you're at the end of flowering its best not to screw with what you've been doing so far.

The only thing I ever felt I got outta sugar water or molasses was sweet ants...and they don't smoke well....did a blind test twins of three diff strains, with & without molasses....4 outta 5 testers preferred non-molasses...

Plants can't directly absorb carbs into their roots, the only way molasses will do anything for them is if your on an organic regimen with microbes in the soil to break it down for the plant.

That is correct. For a plant to take in/take up anything the element or elements first have to be broken down. Plants do not take in/take up nitrogen in as in 'N.' It first has to be broken down and is then taken in/taken up as NO3- NH4+

Phosphorus is not taken in as 'P.' It first has to be broken down and is then taken in/taken up as
H2PO4- - primary orthophosphate[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] H2PO4= - secondary orthophosphate.

It is the same with every element plants use .. and molasses feeds the living microbes in 'living soil,' organic soil and they are what cause the above to happen.
