Hi LB will definitely post results when I get them.

OneHit, sorry, I don't know the room temperature. I have both ballasts and all the hot exhaust ducting running through the room. I will get a temp gauge going and post soon.

I picked up the Duct Shielding.
I am not impressed with it so far. I haven't even installed it yet and my expectations for it's success are quite low.

I was expecting the same construction as the Reflector Shields. WRONG! It is just sun film sewn together to form a tube. None of the black insulation that the reflector shield had.

With getting the new room ready for a tent I have put installing this off. I will get around to it. And who knows I may be surprised by the results.

No .... I haven't put up the duct shielding yet. Still trying to get a new tent set up and I'll put the shielding onto the new ducting. Hopefully in a few days it will be up and running and I will post some info.

That's right, they sit on top and wrap around the sides.

I tried the Duct Shielding and it is overpriced and not very effective. Have found that HomeDepot has insulated ducting that is cheaper and works better.

do you think this will be effective with air cooled 1000 hps? do you still notice temp drops? have you tried with other wattage lamps? thankss

is getting a bigger blower/exhaust out of the question???? obviously your current one is not coping with the generated heat.

Hi dude, I just bought the 'Sun System's Super Sun 2' reflector...its great :) and I am after the 'Sun Shield' you pictured above for the reflector, My question is where did you get it from and how much did it cost?? I am doing a grow in a cupboard...(very modified cupboard) and anything to help keep temps down is always worth a go :) Heres a link to my project if you wanna check it out its a huge thread 'from scratch through to finish' :)

The heat shields really DO work. I tried their duct shields ... they DO NOT work.
