Sunshine Mix 4 thoughts?

So I got a bunch of free Sun Shine Mix 4 when I bought my grow bags. I normally grow in Happy Frog soil and have had good results with it. Has anyone used the Sun Shine Mix 4 before and how did it work out for you? I am thinking on mixing it in with my Happy Frog soil.

Sun shine is a great product. It basically is hydro in a bale. It has no real nutrients to speak of and can be used a number of ways. Personally I would do a side by side test and see which you like best. Good Luck

I use the Sunshine Pro mix #4 with Agregate. Best thing I ever did was switch to that. It's basically just 65% peat and 35% perlite. There's some dolomite lime in it but it is basically an inert grow medium. Great, light and airy, absorbs water well but doesn't gett soggy. I add another 5% of the coarse grade pertlite so mine is around 40%.
I buy the large bales at my local nursery for $35.00. It equals around 8 bags of Happy Frog. You have to start feeding pretty early as Sir Ganga said, but the root development in this stuff is great!
I forgot my nursery closed for four mos. in the winter last year and the FFOF I used in the interim, sure hit my pocketbook a lot more.
I am stocking up and buying three bales this October!

Well I like it so far looks and feels like a good growing media. I did a 50/50 mix of the SunShine #4 and Happy Frog so we will see how that works out. I have a feeling it will be a great environment for roots to grow.
