"Super Cali Haze" from Short Stuff - Hermied, predictably

I got some freebies from the Attitude. This was one of them. Decided to start growing them while space was temporarily limited due to a move. Also got a Blue Himalaya Diesel (Which has grown a few balls but is nearly finished) and 2 Kannabia Strains--Mataro Blue Automatic & La Blanca Automatic--both of which are big and beautiful and very female.

These plants were grown under a single 400w Metal Halide, 20 on and 4 off, Fox Farm Nutes (*very* light feeding) in Ocean Forest Soil. 70-72f and 50% RH.

Anyway, I'm bummed, because the "Super Cali Haze" hermied rather suddenly and for no apparent reason at about 4 feet tall. I hear that's happening to everyone else who's tried to grow it.

Has anybody had any success growing one of these out?

thats a fuckin bummer bro, i got all those autos as freeBs from attitude too....i gave them to my brother,lol...imma have to tell him to be on high nut sack alert:peace:

Maybe it could be your fault I think. I've had seeds of short stuff and they never hermied. In fact I have a Super Auto Cali and it is a beautiful plant. I grow 18/6 schedule. It doesn't behave like a standard Auto, it did begin to show signs of flowering with the top leaves and at that point I switched it to 12/12 (@ 5-7 weeks of veg or so, sorry I cant remember which, keep an eye on top leaves) and they really took off from that point. These plants are supposed to be grown outdoors in places where they can't grow a standard sativa strain. Treat it like a quick flowering sativa and not a standard auto and I think hermie problems will be a thing of the past.

I'm still waiting for mine to finish and I think that i have a couple of weeks left. I am thinking that 60 days of 12/12 will do the trick. I can't wait.

why does it have to be Short Stuff fault? Maybe its the way you grow? His stuff isnt very good I agree but it could be operator error as well.
Worth noting: I didn't state that it was definitely Short Stuff's fault. I merely pointed out that several other people I'm aware of had the exact same issue, so I was kinda waiting for it to happen and then it did.

It sure could be my fault and everyone else I know's fault, I suppose. But I can't come up with any possible errors I made at all. Conditions were perfect, every other plant in my tent is thriving beyond belief... If there's something I could have done to cause it, I can't think of it.

Was mostly interested in hearing an answer to my question: Has anyone else grown it, with or without success?

hope this is only a one time thing or just a mistake on your part. I just got 10 fem Super Cali Haze seeds and plan on starting in the next week or two. how are all the other strains doing? i hope this super auto is worth the little extra wait, i heard it can crop over 4oz from one plant.

I just cut my Super Cali Haze about 3 days ago, also got mine from Attitude freebie. Had no problems with hermie, but mine didn't grow tall as that I didn't want them to. I kept them in about a 2.5 gal pot (I flowered them for fun) and rotated them out on under a 400mh and a 600 hps. It wasn't a huge yield for obvious reasons, but it was some decent head stash. Definitely haze flavor, for a freebie it was pretty good.

How long Did you let yours go? Mines at 80 days and looks kinda clones to harvest, I had to put it under 12/12 when I flowered my other plants.

Any time you grow a feminized seed you are taking a risk of a hermie. Femenized seeds in general are not too stable. They are grown from a hermie plants so it is likely to carry the trait.

well for anyone who is looking to have lots of seeds from a strain instead of having to spend money on seeds. you can spray a sulfate on the ladies. silver thiosulfate is a safe spray that will cause a female is Y Y chromosomes to produce male bananas all over. those are TRUE feminized seeds because they do not carry the trains of a male father. subbed!!

Saw a few nanas on my Super Cali Haze yesterday. Its at about 40 days. Wanted to try this auto thing out.. well first auto grow and it goes hermi. 18/6 until first flowering, then 12/12 then on. Grown SOG style. If anything its a nice healthy strong looking plant, spicy resin smell.
