Super Droopy but Soil is Moist

Help,
I have, or had, a super perky, budding and seemingly healthy BC blueberry plant until Saturday night. It had been getting morning and evening sun, and about 80 degree heat since being put in the ground in a hole large enough for about eight gallons on an easy grade. A half gallon of water or so every few days when it didn't rain or as needed.
Saturday evening, it rained about six inches over just a couple of hours, then the weather cooled. The plant went to a dead droop overnight. I was told that it was overwatered, which makes sense considering the hard rain and the fact that the hole is large and in untilled clay, and could easily be filled with water. But, the plant is droopy from the stems.
i was advised to not water it and let it go a couple of days and it would perk up, but it hasn't. In fact, it doesn't seem to have gotten worse or better, just the same old droopy.
Any advice at this point?

It's cause that clay is retaining the water in the hole and it's drowning...just let it dry out...if it rains agin I would suggest putting a "clean" garbage can over it or something so the hole doesn't fill with water agian...good luck and welcome to RIU...
