Super Lemon Haze and Barney's LSD

I ordered these two strains from Attitude last December. I germed 2 SLH and 4 LSD. I put one lady from each strain into bud as soon as it was big enuf, let the rest get bigger.
I have just chopped the first plants. They both were in bud for 9 weeks, trimmed and hung for 1-2 days, placed in paper bags for another couple days, then jarred for at least a week.
First, the SLH. I am disappointed with this first plant. Oh, it works good enough. But I bought it for aroma and taste, and both are painfully absent with this plant. Could very well be my own fault, but the plant seemed ok. Some smell during flower, but not as much as I'd hoped. All but gone after drying. I am hoping the second SLH is more like I was looking for.
The LSD is a different story. Really strong smell, nice taste. The aroma is really different. Some skunk, but something else too.... Very potent weed. Very tall plant also. Good yield.

LSD is really good. i grew it a few grows back and i loved it. i had the sativa pheno and the high was very very good with some face and body numb. i like it so much that im growing it again and will start cloning soon. too bad about the slh..... u have any pics?

I'm growing both this strains too. Sadly my SLH seeds grew like shit also but buds were actually good and tasty. LSD is another history! Massive yielder, compact, branched, dank, and potent more in the range of what I was expecting from getting good beans.

I'm on 35 days of Super Lemon Haze and I germinated and growing 2 in DWC bubble ponics. I have to agree my SLH has very little smell to it. I had a strong phenotype because out of the 2 I planted one grows really well and fast.

9 weeks is to short for sucha sativa dominant plant as SLH. It needs at least 11 weeks. Did you check the trichomes and the hairs? Cus when I was att 9 weeks it still grew out new white hairs and the buds were still getting bigger. Mine went a total of 12 weeks and the taste was sensational..best i ever had to quote Drake. The taste really gets better the longer it flowers. Better luck next time i guess!

Thanks for the input, Johaha. Yeah, I watched the pistils and the trichs. Pistils were over 90% brown, trichs about 20-30% amber. I'll let the next one go longer anyway. There are many reasons why this could be my own fault.

Pistils turn that color before time usually because of high temps.

Thanks masp84..makes sense. The room I am currently budding in is a bit on the warm side, but not horribly. In any case, I got 5 to chop over the next week or so, then 5 more in about 4 weeks. After that, I am moving the op back to the basement, where I have built a new room which should be much cooler (my new room in Grow Room and Design forum).

My L.S.D. is 3 days away from its "advertised" finishing time but I'll leave her at least another week.
She's stinking out my neighbourhood - luckily it's hard to determine exactly where the smell comes from and the sea breezes keep dispersing the smell.

My L.S.D.s trichomes were born cloudy, so waiting for a change from clear to cloudy is not an option - but as soon as any amber start to appear I will chop her.

Did I mention that she smells?

Yeah, mine were stinky too. Not only that, but a very unique smell. During flower, if I squeezed a bud and took a good whiff, it was sort of a chemical or petroleum smell, with hints of skunk. After drying, the smell changed to something more cannibislike, but still strong. Potent weed too.

Hey G.O.D. do your colas of LSD have a sort of little extra "horn" growing out the top? Nearly every one of my LSD colas have this, and it occurs on multiple plants. Interesting feature of the pheno I guess.

My SLH (4 plants) are pretty smelly. They are close to 11 weeks and smell allot. I have 2 pheno's one indica and 3 sativa. I run a carbon filter and Ozone and can still smell them.

Hah..I just remembered I took pics of that feature a while back. Here are two different LSD plants showing the trait. No big deal really, but it does show some consistency in the strain at least:

I will definitely let my SLH go longer. So you're giving nutes per normal right up to harvest?

They seem to be starting to "foxtail" a little with the top of the colas having five or so distinct growth points each doing their own thing pumping out pistils.
Each of my colas is only 4 to 6 inches long, but 36 of them starts to add up.
Lights are off for another 7 or 8 hours, I might take a pikkie for you later.

Yup i use FoxFarms nukes (Big Bloom, Grow Big, and Tiger Bloom) and mix in a 5 gallon bucket per the back of the bottle every day feeding. I water every 2 or 3 days. I also started to use MOAB for the first week of 12/12 and the last 2 or 3 weeks of flower before 2 weeks of flush with SledgeHammer.


Here is my grow. I am almost done and will have some pics before cutting. I also got little horns on my SLH. I will be sure to take a pic.

Heh funny...almost exactly what I do. I use all 6 FF products, pretty much per the feeding schedule on their web site or at your local shop. Theirs is a 12-week schedule including veg, so I have to stretch out every phase a little. I even use the Sledgehammer
Dunno what MOAB is.

Moab is Mother Of All Blooms. It a bloom booster. It seems to work pretty well.

Thanks otheryoda, I'll check it out. Let me tell you about a additive I have been using. It's called Great White, and it's mycorrhizae. Basically makes the root system go nuts, which in turn promotes growth above ground. It really works. I noticed many many more bud sites after applying it.

My SLH came out awesome. At around week 5 in flower it got an nasty but nice overly sour lemonaid smell it kept through dry and cure for me. The smoke was a combo of critis and pine flavor when smokes. All of the 10 that I have grown have been Sativa Doms and reached between 5-6 feet tall indoors. I got about 3oz per plant dry. Pics enjoy.
