My seeds haven't arrived yet after 15 days. Hopefully they didn't get taken by customs and I can get them in the ground in the next few days. I'm keen to see the yield I can get with these CFLs and what others get with HIDs. I think I should be OK with 8 120W CFLs during the flowering stage.

This is my first time growing so if you guys can see any problems, let me know! :bigjoint:

I like the Aeroponics setup! Cant ever have enough CFL's though! I just harvested my first plant with them i had like 340 watts on mine though! I have one bulb with almost more watts than ur whole setup! 105watt 400watt equ. 6500k Daylight CFL

Sweeet brother, Im sub'd up and ready for u to get ur hands on those seeds to watch these babies GROW!
That light was purchased off amazon for 30bucks!

my seeds finally arrived a few days ago and i'll germinate them in 2 or 3 days from now.

i've decided to buy more lights and not do a SCROG because i have more vertical space than i do horizontal space.

current light setup:

vegetative period: 3 x 23W 6500K CFLs, 3 x 45W 6500K CFLs and 2 x 23W 2700K CFLs

flowering period: 4 x 45W 2700K CFLs and 4 x 23W 2700K CFLs above the plant and 4 x 23W 2700K CFLs below and around the plant

vegetative period total watts: 250W outputting 1250W
flowering period total watts: 364W outputting 1560 W

total lumens during flower period: ~ 25,000 lumens

I've germinated 5 seeds. I put them in a cup of water for about 20 hours, then put them between two paper towels and they're now sitting in the cupboard.

I've changed my mind again and have redesigned my lighting system and am going back to SCROG. I'm pretty sure this is final.

I've got 8 x 23W 6500K CFLs for vegging and 16 x 23W 2700K CFLs for flowering all at an equal level above the plants so a SCROG will work well. I can get these lights for about $8 each so it works out pretty cheap. I didn't end up buying the 45 watt bulbs because they are about $30 each.

veg: 184w @ 6500k --> 800w equivalent
flower: 368w @ 2700k --> 1600w equivalent

all 5 seeds have popped after 36 hours and have been put in rockwool. i'm going to let all five grow for 2 weeks or so, and pick the best/strongest looking four.

my five seedlings in rockwool, covered by plastic for humidity

Day 4 (from seed):

I think I planted the seeds in the rockwool too early because the seed casing of two is still attached above the surface. They seem to still be growing as normal though. My lights are on 18/6 and are about 3-4 cm away from the tops.

1. Has a brown spot on the tip of one cotyledon

2. Seed popped off weirdly, base of cotyledons looks unhealthy

3. Looks healthy, seed casing still attached

4. Healthy, furthest progression

5. Healthy

I just got home from work and opened my closet and was hit in the face with a fireball. My exhaust fan came loose and wasn't extracting air so the room got to 48 degrees (120 fahrenheit), 20% humidity and all five of the sprouts have shriveled up and are basically dead. I sprayed them a bit and resoaked the rockwool but they're pretty much gone. Pretty fucking annoying. I'm going to remake my setup properly after learning from lots of mistakes and hopefully come back with more of a chance. Thanks for all the tips from everyone. I'll post a link to my next grow whenever that may be.

Damn I am sorry to hear that... Do you have any seed ready to germinate?

one of the SLH could recover so I'll keep that one going as much as I can. I'll plant some freebies when i fix my setup - probably blue widow, northern lights x big bud and og kush.
