I thought you were the expert. I figured you were going to seed in coco coir. But no you have to make clones first, ok, I hate hydro so your not going to get a constructive answer. But anything grown in pure chemical is not a plant to me.

that is definetely weird. no one here is an expert IMO, but hes doing everything he can to run a good experiment which he is doing great IMO. seeds would not make it a good experiment since they would be all different phenos. to start with one seed in coco could have worked but im pretty sure hes had more experience in hydro so he stuck with that to get healthy clones to start the real experiment. you can use organic nutes in hydro which would not make it pure chemical and there is always water so im pretty sure its not like roots submerged in a gallon of nutrients. the only reason other mediums are used is to give roots a stable foundation and to retain nutrients. not like soil or coco is making the plants an extreme difference than hydro, except for speed of growth and taste to some.

i never said i was an expert. actually i SAID that im FAR from an expert. check the first page homie. i understand you love soil, thats great for you. im sorry if i dont meet your requirements, go to a thread that does.

neways..

so its been a few days now, the tops have turned up, looks like they were lsted lol. i will check for roots and the 7th day and flood the tray a bit of needed.

Hey, I'm looking forward to this one.

I'm a big coco/Lucas fan. I've considered additives but I'm happy with my current results so I have a difficult time justifying adding more stuff/cost/complexity. I've got a couple hydro systems sitting unused in the basement, too, but again, I'm happy with coco.

So how are the clones coming along? Any updates?

Really excited to see how this goes. I tried a DWC before and had totally no idea whatsoever what I was doing and totally effed it up. A few things I would suggest are taping up your bucket with silver tape or going to the hydro store and getting a black plastic bucket. That way no light get's in. But I would totally recommend silver tape from the hardware store. Second you should check out two products. SM-90 and Anti-Wilt. SM-90 will help prevent root rot and it smells amazing. Since you are running the Lucas Formula you don't have to worry about it killing any beneficial bacteria. Second product is Anti-Wilt. This stuff is amazing! You can prep your mothers by spray this stuff on a day or two before taking cuttings or just giving them a spray down the day of after they're in rockwool or w.e you're using. It has always worked amazingly for me.

O I forgot to mention, since I first started with the DWC I have gone to coco and absolutely love it and have had amazing results!
