actually i didnt even know youtube talked about it but the way i found out about them is from this old dude i met its weird cuz i walked to a pet store and i asked him for some small compact 27ook bulbs and he said those are good but if you want to see maximum results u should get a UVB light and he explained to me how buds will have a smoother and cleaner smoke and the buds itself will be more dank...idk but he sounds like he use to grow or something but i bought one now i gotta wait and see what the end result from it will look like

In a summed up explanation, UV rays are harmful to plants, and marijuana produces resin glands (THC) to protect itself from the UV rays.
I don't think it will make it smoother, that comes down to harvesting, drying and curing. But it will definitely cause your THC percentage to be a lot higher.

Yeah, I used it on my last grow for like 2 weeks, til it turned male. I left it on when I went in and you can really feel it on your skin.

nO MA MAN,,MARIJUANA GROWS OFF uva and UVB rays,,the sun produces both,,without that or emulation of those,your plant will not grow!The plants trichomes were ment for protection against pests and other shit in the wild! Go on wikipedia and look up trichome.

Yeah, I looked it up before I posted that. I was high, and I read it wrong. Over-exposure hurts the plant, haha. They use the trichomes to actually magnify the UV rays to the lower portion of itself and use that for growing.

HAHAHA, man, I do that shit all the time when I'm high, purp. LOL. I remember watching the video on youtube with the old guy showing graphs and shit about different levels of UVA and UVB on a map. They were showing reasons for different strains of marijuana and why they grew where they grew. Pretty entertaining, I'll tell ya that!!

I read that you're supposed to start slow to let the plant adjust and work your way up, eventually leaving it on constantly during light hours. Whether that works out or not, I don't know. That's what I'm going to find out when I start flowering again.

12/12 is exellent..During flower,,the plants require more of a RED spectrum(lower kelvin bulb) to produce the flowersIm tryin to rigg. up a tanningbed bulb(just one cause they put out too much heat) and run it 12/12 with my hid light.Those bulbs are low kelvin and highlumen!Exactly whats needed during flower.I would use a couple of those bulbs mixed with the lighting you using now for great results/

they need atleast 12 hours of light to make it..you can start off with 12/12 or whatever lighting schedule you prefer.
