super soil in smaller pots

what up everyone?

first post here..just wanted to give big ups rollitup and subcool!!!

been doing so much research lately and among other motivations in life to clean up my lifestyle i really want to switch to organic growing

i have a 4k sealed room that is a "stadium" style vert setup and i currently run 2gal pots of coco with cns17 nutes.

my setup is SUPER dialed in as far as plant spacing goes, and there is absolutely no way i could fit 7gal pots, or even 5gal pots on my shelves.

what do yall think about using supersoil in 2gallon pots? my plants usually end up about 2ft tall and yield 2oz.
id transplant from 5x5 square pots of base soil. i COULD potentially use 3gal pots but thatd mean id have to mix up a bunch more soil

THANKS EVERYONE

PS sorry if this has been answered before but ive looked all over...point me in the right direction

There is a poster by the name of "hovering" that I believe uses 1 gallon pots when he tests new TGA strains. Not sure if he uses super soil or not, but I'd send him a message and find out his thoughts.

I think the roots need to be developed before they go into a pot with supersoil. You are talking about planting rooted clones in the 2 gallon pots right? That wont give the plant enuff space to develop adult roots. I could be wrong. Anf if they do work and run out of gass...you could just fret with organic roots liquid or whatever...

i would gut your stadium seating, and use minimum 5 gal.....imho...........hovering uses pro-mix and botanicare nutes at 75%....but yield is not considered, because it is just a dank test..... before he commits a pheno to 10 gal in his "for-real" garden....he is a wise man.....i have tried 3 gal. super soil....could not get it to work very well.....i use 5's and 7's......and then much larger out in the sun....good luck!

well then i need some help convincing ditching my stadium.

its really great, increased yields because of vertical lighting, easy to cool with a/c , and no bulky hoods/ductwork.

what are guys pulling under 1k with say, 6 plants in 5gal pots?

i would be transplanting them from 5"x5" square pots of base mix. probably would put them straight onto the bottom layer of SS or just a small barrier of base mix, because the roots would be well developed.

I flower in 1 gallon pots under 150 watts in supersoil, i run 30-50% supersoil and most strains do just fine. Some need topdressed once. Next I will be using 2 gallon under a 600. It is possible.

I second Nugbuckets' statement. I grow 3-4 ounce plants and they run out of gas with SS in 4 gallon pots. I have to feed twice during flower.

i pull 30-35 zips with 8 plants in 5 gal smarts under two 600's...or 1200 total.

sticky do you run them in solo cups or somethin before going into 1g? how long do you veg
12 oz. cup >> 1 quart or 2 liter >> 1 gallon. I veg 1-2 months although for my setup it is unnecessary but I like to make sure they have a decent root system and for my style veg time is not important.

Are you running Co2 as well nugz?
i do not run co2.......i try to keep things as natural as possible......most of my indoor growing is a test for my outdoor run, and since my outdoor environment does not have enriched air, neither does my indoor.

i have a 2 1/2 by 6 ft. veg space with a 4 ft. t-5 and 2 ft. t-5 mounted end to end......... and a 3 by 6ft. flower space in a 6 by 8 room...with two 600 digi's...and a small adjacent greenhouse......my plants average about around 24 inches tall from the soil line......using either 5 or 7 gal. smart pots......super soil, and sugars.

Na I dont either, I was just curious if those kind of #'s were attainable without it as I'm not quite there yet.
