Super Soil Results

I've never used it but don't see why it wouldn't work. Looking at the comments on Amazon it seems a lot of Earthbox growers use it. Earthboxes are kind of a quasi-hydroponic wick system. I would think if it stabilizes PH for them, it would work fine in regular pots.

Cool. There's been a little confusion on what's the 'best' ingredients to use on my part, but this one just happens to be part of my gardening tool belt already. The other alternative (without going to an online site) is a 50lb bag of pulverized, powdery stuff. It's incredibly cheap, but I almost have to wonder if the pellets might be better since they're slower release? I'm hoping to only cook for 30 days, though, so I'm also worried it might be too slow.

Hey folks, I'm running a 3835W grow. just wondering if subcool and the SS followers sex out their plants BEFORE transplanting. I've seen in his video that he tops them before transplanting. Didn't know if he sexes 'em out first too. Anyone?

Thanks and Rep to anyone who knows.

Question: I noticed when cooking the super soil it doesn't really smell much at all anymore, is that normal? (At first it simply smelled like poop.) I hear people talking about a 'white film' developing on the top layer, but haven't seen that either. I'm 3 weeks cooking thus far. Is it bad if I'm not getting a smell/white film? I keep my room pretty warm and it's certainly moist.

This is my first run with SS. I used 5 Gallon pots cuz I already had them which was fine for my Lavender buy my NL x Purple Kush and my mystery moster bud ran out of nutes too soon. I bought 7 gallon pots today and starting on my second run. I also mixed up a new batch of soil and playing around with the mixture. I will post results.

Yeah after cooking it for a while the smell goes away......the first couple batches I made I never saw that white fuzz forming but still had awesome results.....these batches i recently made had that white fuzz 2 days in......I didn't do anything different,I think it had to do with the lower temps in my region......I also had a batch go anaerobic on me,it reeked of ammonia...I set it out and let it dry out all the way......recooked it and used it with great results.........

Thanks ColdArmySoldier. I think they would of been bigger if I grew them in bigger pots. Guess we will see soon in the next run.

Little over 2 oz dry. Smells sweet and smokes smooth. All I did is just what Subcool said to do on this Forum.

Thanks a lot, my final question is in regards to the 'texture' of the soil. It seems a bit muddy - I almost wonder if more vermiculite would be better but maybe it's supposed to be muddy. I'm worried I may have put too much worm castings in, but I hear the more the better. Anyway, thanks for the input. (And I used roots organic/bio bizz light, followed recipe exactly, but added a little extra castings.)

MUddy ish is not bad it's only like that when it is really saturated........and don't worry about the extra castings.......I accidentally added more worm castings on accident my first batch too......everything went fine.......

This is my Pre 98 BubbaKush grown in subs supersoil, turning a nice pink! A few more weeks and shes all done.
