Super Stealth Noob Grow 1st Eva

First let me start by saying that I am making all of this up, and that none of this is true. I just have a good imagination.

Ok where to start...............
Act 1

My friend approached me saying that he had the place if I supplied all the equip and materials. So it was on. I purchased everything that we thought was needed, rock wool, conditioner, ph test kit, 1000w hps/mh system, mylar, and a value pack of feminized seeds from the U.K. (20 white widow, 20 himalayan gold, 20 supersilver haze). We popped the seeds using the ole school plate with a damp paper towel stashed under the sink. Figured we would start with 20. Those damn himilayan gold wouldnt pop tho. We ended up using all 20 himilayan gold and only got 2 to pop (whats up with that?). Anyways after we go the babys popped we transfered them into 1 1/2inch rock wool cubes. Put them under a set of flourescent lights and off we went. They thrived under those lil lights and after they reached about 6 inches tall we transfered them into 1/2 gallon pots.

We built a room in his attached garage that was 10' x 10' using simple 2x4's and some 4'x8' styrofoam insulation board that had a reflective backing on it and Mylar'd everything good. We were now ready to break out the big light. So we mount the light with hangers so that we could adjust the height accordingly, and my dumb ass screws in the MH bulb by hand anxious to get this show on the road. So we turn the ballast on and watch all happy as the light warms up and then it kicks on full power. About one minute after it came on we saw a flash then darkness. Can anybody guess what went wrong? I am sure you vets already know. What happened was my dumb ass touched all over the bulb with my bare hands (which is a no no with MH bulbs) and the oils from my hand created hot spots on the bulb and it blew. Cost me another $40 for a new bulb lol. First lesson learned.

This is just the beginning of my adventure. And since I cant talk about it to anyone around here I created this account to share my experience aka vent. I will continue my story over the next few days because there is alot to tell. And I will provide pictures toward the end of my story. So if you are interested stay tuned..........

( It seems like this is all stuff that would go into a journal but for some reason I cant start one)

Act 2

So the big light is going on an 18/6 schedule running off a timer and my friend says the room is too hot with that 1000w running. So i grab an old window ac unit I had in my garage and we cut hole in one of the walls and mounted it. I figured the problem was solved because the ac had a thermostat on it and could regulate the temp in the room automatically. But I get a call from my friend saying that during the hottest time of the day the ac was not working good enough and the room was still too hot (summer time still). I go over to check it out and the ac was not set on cool it was set on fan. I called my friend a dumb ass and considered the problem fixed. A couple days later (during the hottest days of the summer 100 degree +) I get another call from him saying the same problem is going on and the girls are starting to suffer/stress. So I run over thinking,"this dude is an idiot and just cant work the ac". When I get there it is a depressing sight. The girls are in a bad way. Some of the smaller ones were shriveled and dead, and the bigger ones were stressing hard drooping and all around looking like shit. The ac was still on cool and temp set at 85 but it was too old to keep that lil room cooled off. So I run home and grab a brand new window ac that I had bought a few months earlier for my garage and hurry back to his house to install it. From then on temp was regulated and we were good. All total we lost 7 babies in that lil crisis. It was a sad time, but it coulda been alot worse.

Shortly after we began using Iguana juice grow organic nutes (read about it online). The 13 babies left were growing like crazy the next couple weeks and we had no more issues.........( besides my friend cutting off the leader on about half the babies without telling me). Atleast no problems until we put in the HPS and started the 12/12.

Stay tuned for more.............................

Welcome to the community I am subbed your very thorow keep it going

Thanks Inda. i have been frequenting this site since day one of my imaginary stealth grow. I have gained alot of info from reading alot of posts from members here. Comparing pics from you pros to what I got etc..... Act 3 is going to take a while to type up so I will continue tomorrow. But it is going to be a page turner. To give you a lil taste it has to do with sexing the babies and then a whole different kind of heat comes into effect.

Just a reminder that I am a complete pathological liar. None of this is true.

Act 3

So a couple weeks have gone by and the kids are doing really well on the Iguana Juice Grow. And they get to our predetermined ideal heighth to induce flowering (Tallest was about 24" shortest about 18"). Just so happens its the same week my friend was going out of town to florida. So he starts the 12/12 cycle about 2 days before he leaves for florida. Started using the Iguana Juice Bloom. I get stuck walking his dog twice a day and watering the girls twice a day (he had been doing all the watering and care before this). Well the first day he's gone I go over early afternoon and take care of my duties no problem. But when I got off work that afternoon I had fell asleep on the couch. After I woke up and actually remembered that I had to go take care of them it was 11pm. So I run over and walk his dog then go to the garage to water the girls and the lights were already off. I had read on this site and others that complete darkness and routine hours were very important during the preflower and flower phase. So I didnt water them that night, just turned around and went back home. The next day I went up there earlier, about an hour after the light kicked on. I opened the door to the room and my heart dropped. All the kids were twisted and sagging all crazy looking. None were standing erect. I quickly mixed up a batch of iguana juice and gave them a doube dose of watering. Said my prayers, crossed my fingers and left. When I returned later that evening for the next watering they were all erect and looking pretty much normal.

The next morning when I went over I started noticing the double white hairs (pistols I think they're called) on some and lil pouches on some. I am thinking to myself these are all feminized so there cant be males in here can they???????? So I got online and did some investigation on what I was looking at. I still wasn't positive what I was seeing, but felt excited cause it looked like it was showtime. A couple of days go by and the lil ball sacks started forming everywhere on 6 of the kids, especially on the main leaders. They were dudes! I thought those damn Britts got over on me. Not only did I get just 2 Himilayan gold to pop out of 20 seeds, now their feminized seeds werent all females. So I grabbed a roll of garbage bags and bagged each male individually, took them upstairs and put them in dudes bedroom closet to dispose of when he got home. None of the pods opened during that process.... so I guess I got lucky. Now we are down to 7 young ladies. 2 white widow, 1 himilayan gold, and 5 super silver haze.

A couple days go by and I am chillin at my crib when I get a text from my friend down in Florida reading, "911 emergency, you gotta get those young ladies out of the house now! Right now! This is no joke get up there asap and get them out".........................

To be continued.............................................

Act 4

So I am starring at this phone reading this message over and over starting to get that feeling in my gut (butterflies). And I call my friend to find out whats up. He tells me that his landlord has entered his house through his garage and has seen everything. She was tripping out too. He was ending his vacation early and was headed back as we spoke. He wanted me to go remove everything before she called the cops, and he didnt care what I did with them as long as they were gone. I am freaking out.

1. I didnt wanna go up there and have the police bust me carrying them out, or get caught with them in my van.
2. Where was I gonna take these young ladies to?
3. I have too much $ invested to just throw these away
4. The ladies are bigger now with the tallest one being over 3ft tall now

Well I sucked it up and took the van up to rescue the girls. My adrenaline is going full steam, and I am scarred to death that I am gonna get caught. I get my ac unit, the nute's, the ladies, the lights, and the water tub and head out. I made some calls and found a basement to take them all too. Dropped them off and headed to Lowes to get materials for a new room. I grabbed some 2x4's and some more of that 4'x8' styrofoam reflective insulation board and built a new room. This room I threw together in about 2 hours but it was only 6'x6' square. Once I got the ladies in the room with the ac rolling, I noticed 2 of the girls were looking sickly (2 super silver).

For anyone that has been following my story can you think of one important thing that I havent done?????????? The important thing that I didnt do was transplant the girls into larger pots. All the girls are still in 1/2 gallon pots!!!!!

A couple weeks go by and the 2 sickly looking ssh havent really showed any signs of improvement. I am a lil worried that I am gonna lose them. The other 5 are doing great. Flowers are growing everywhere and its an exciting time full of promise. I start doing a lil more research into dif nutes and I decide to get away from the organics and go with A.N Big bud. There was alot of positive things being said about that and A.N Overdrive. So after about a week of using Big Bud I started to see signs of life in the 2 sickly looking girls. New flowers began to form on the ends of the branches and on the main leader. Exciting!

During this time 2 of the ssh had a major growth spurt growing to 5 and 6 foot tall. They look so funny too because we have these big christmas trees standing in lil 1/2 gallon pots. All disproportioned looking.

more to come stay tuned..........

Act 5

Rootbound!!!!!! My plants are so rootbound that it has to be some sort of record. I mean some of them are 4ft wide, and some are 5 to 6 ft tall in half gallon pots. They look crazy disproportioned. And I have to water twice a day everyday. Weeks of watering have compacted the rock wool down to the point where you could see some roots near the surface. And the knats were out thick. I read somewhere to just add gravel to the top of the pot and the knats wont be able to get to the roots. So I went to the hardware store and bought a 50lb bag of pebbles used in mixing concrete. Filled all the pots with the pebbles up the the rim of the pot (bout 2inch of pebbles in each pot).
The himilayan gold is in a dif kind of half gallon pot. Its skinnier and taller than the other short broader pots, and the plant was very top heavy and unsteady if barely bumped. Came down one morning to find her laying on her side. So I got a clear plastic bucket, poked all kinds of holes in it and put alot of pebbles in the bottom of it, then placed the HG pot inside the bigger plastic bucket and backfilled all around it with more pebbles. Nice and stable now (crazy tho, I noticed mad roots growing in the pebbles along the walls of the clear bucket). Noticed alot of crickets in the basement now tho...... Do crickets eat knats or something?

After about 3 weeks of using Big Bud I noticed alot of fan leaves were yellowing and dying, figured it was time to switch to Overdrive. I flushed em out with plain ph'd water, then began half strength Overdrive. I was hoping that with Overdrive having a higher nitrogen level it would correct the yellowing leaf problem. I was wrong. And it steadily got worse. It ony affected the fan leaves tho. None of the bud leaves. And it was all the plants not just one. Lights were running 11/13 then.

Now the lights are on 10/14 and the White Widows have been on full strength overdrive for 2 weeks. The shorter of the 2 plants seems to be maturing faster than the bigger one. The majority of the white hairs that always straightened out erect when I watered it have changed color and
dont stand up at attention anymore. It is looking super super sticky too. So I stopped feeding it nutes yesterday morning. I figure I will give it the plain ph'd water for the next week n a half, then seperate it from the pack and give it 48 hrs of darkness. The other White Widow and himilayan gold will be the following week and the super silver will be ready a week or 2 after that (all depending on the trich's tho, I got my magnifying glass).
Well that is my story so far........ I have a couple pics I just took on my phone but the quality isnt that great and its hard to get a good shot with that bright ass light.

This is the bigger White Widow daddy 2 204.jpg

This is the smaller White Widow daddy 2 199.jpg
Side shot of the smaller one daddy 2 205.jpg
One of the buds from smaller onedaddy 2 201.jpg

These are all photos I found on the internet, I just took a screen shot with my phone so I could act like they are mine

Over the next 3 or 4 weeks I will post pics of all my ladies as they head to the chopping block. Just like the pic above of the larger WW I will try to include the pots in the pics so you can see how rootbound these ladies truely are.
