Super tight budget, help w/ lighting.

I have been using a 125w CFL bulb 6400k for veg and its working great for my 3x3x9 closet. Im getting ready to start flowering and i cant decide whether im gonna buy a 125w 2700k CFL that will fit the ballast i already have or if im gonna get a small HPS set up. Like i said im on a reeal tight budget, the CFL is about $30-$40 and i found a 150w hps setup with everything u need for about $80. And one other thing is what type of heat would a 150w hps generate? Im able to maintain a stable temp now of about 75-80 degrees in my closet, how dramatically would that change with a 150w hps ? What do u guys suggest stick with the Cfls or HPS?? cause im leanin toward HPS.

ya the hps will be hotter, if you are already at 75-80 then stick with the CFL's. especially if your budget is that tight like mine then just go with this for now and sell some when its ready and get the big boy stuff

If you are in a town area where heat seeking is used, you should just get a 100w+ 2700k bulb for flower, and a few 23w 2700k bulbs for maximum light on the plant. Seriously. No need for HPS if you no what your doing. You know, your on a budget so sticking with cfls may be your best bet. Especially for power. Peace

50W HPS Lights of America fixture from home depot. Cost me 40$, and I had to cut an extension cord so I could wire it for a 120V outlet. It puts out around 4000 lumes and doesnt get very hot.

Heat seeking??? Dude cops have to have a warrant to do that kind of thing, they can't just go flying around and come knocking on your door.

I would save for a 250W or maybe even a 400W HPS... For now it might just be easier and cheaper to add another CFL and you will probably get similar results as a 150W HPS. Really need to up the Wattage on HID lights if you want to see a difference between adding another CFL or using HID lights.
