SuperSkunk Manifold

Well, the humidity being in the 30's cannot be fought too much, and I think that was the main issue with this grow. I am pleased with the results, but not ecstatic. The low rH also effected the dry, so @Diggs you might want to hold off on harvest till spring ;) Total of 3 days to get them dry enough to jar. That was also due to the smaller size of everything. Nothing but the tops seem very dense, but I know they will keep shrinking down as they cure. Hoping they solidify a little.

The semi-final with them at about 65% rH is 28g of tops, 42g of buds bigger than a half inch (I use a screen to sort them), and 20g of the larf.
90g or 3.2oz, and will probably end up right at the 3oz mark.
If I was hurting for weed that larf is what would keep me from going nuts until the rest got cured.

I am going to stuff the big ones in a jar and put them under vacuum to see if it steams the jar up with moisture coming out.

This is what the vacuum process looks like for me. I toss in my oldest Boveda packs, since they absorb moisture as well as give it. The little attachment fits over the lid, then sucks the air out. I don't bother with the rings because I'll be opening it a lot.

Avery 4-6 hours I'll open it up (the edge of a pair of scissors works best to break suction) and I'll dump it on a screen and let it air out. Maybe 5-10 minutes, then re-vacuum.

So aside from about an ounce of larf and keif, this is 115 days work :)

That only takes about a week, opening it less frequent as it ages, and at some point it just looks and feels like 'ready' buds. And I keep it in a cupboard out of the light while it's in the jars.

Then I put it in the c-vaults and do the burping thing - otherwise known as playing with your weed LOL

So how long will you cure it before you consider it ready to smoke?

I always enjoy you thorough updates bro

Here's an update on my manifold and her sisters.

My 315s finally got here, I will install them later this evening, so realistically I can flip this bunch whenever I'm ready now.

The 2 bigger girls were transplant into 7g pots yesterday

Sort of a smoke report. After playing with the buds, I have been high all day just off the pile of hairs and leafy bits that fell off (and all the keif that goes with it.

No taste to speak of, but it is very "do something".

I almost have the new grow room as finished as its gonna be for now, enough to hold plants, but there are still upgrades in the works. I don't want to deal with paint fumes, so I am stapling up space blankets as the final tough. They suck a little because it rattles when the fan hits it if it isn't tight - and it probably wont be ;) But I don't live in that room.

Lights come on in 45 minutes, and the tent-plants have no lights to come on so I'll post pics later. I had to sit down and burn more ;)

Yes, that is an ironing board ;) It's temporary though. I need to get another piece of something for a second floor where the grating is. I already have a support up around the wall so it will be a quick install. This ended up 46"x35", so bigger than the other room. IMG_7471.JPG

Gear I swear by.

SMOJO! If you smoke in a bowl, it's better than screens and clean-able and reusable.
Pro-tip: salt does not dissolve in rubbing alcohol - you can use the combination to clean your bong, or put it in a small mason jar with your smojo's and shake the hell out of it ;)

I've really enjoyed your journal H.A.F - but this little tip has changed my bongs life. Where have those little bowl cuff links been all MY life? genius...

Random stoner thoughts: I write these for me to evaluate later ;)

I just realized that I have no seeds growing right now. That is weird. All clones.

The GDP has started stretching better than any I have had after flip. If I have 3 more doing that at the same time, they'll have to all be in the bigger room.

I am going to have to flip the skunk before the 15th so they can be done or close by the time I need room for my contest plants.

I could put one in a big pot, give it a good veg, and harvest a pound!!!

I'll have the GDP harvested in less than 2 months, the skunk a few weeks after - but if I have one shrub in a big pot and flip the other two, the contest plants won't be big enough to matter and could both be in a veg room at the same time for a bit. I could veg one monster skunk for a month or soo and see what happens.

Flip 2 and transplant one before the 15th.

So the easiest thing is to switch rooms. Make the bigger one flower

Lots of juggling stuff.

Morning review - this is why I take notes.

Just grow one plant for the contest, make it the Northern Lights, and damn the timeline if I don't get finished ;)

I have been dying to drop it anyway and plan to take clones from it. That was the damn reason I practiced on these clones to begin with... duh.

Flipping the rooms still makes sense though, and I have some industrial wire-shelves that can be configured different ways, so a 3-tier shelf became 3 racks with legs, so today the ironing board will be gone.

Reading back over stuff and I didn't answer your question. I usually go one month from the day it went into the jar. Honestly, after it's dry-you get high. After it cures it is just better.

I think this will work for a while like this. I have a carbon filter in the mail and it can officially be a flower room without me having to switch the filter from the other room. Because of the silly vent-shelf ideas everything is at least 16" off the ground, 18" on the right shelf. I lose a lot of height, but flipping as quick as I do I haven't had a plant over 2' anyway. If I do get a monster I can always put it in the other room.

After these clones, and deciding on running the NL for the contest in a bigger pot, then the clones-SOG from that, I won't be growing because I need weed anymore, it'll just be habit ;)

So I am thinking that 4 at a time in smaller pots after that. Run 4-top manifolds and let the chips fall where they may. I would rather run more plants quicker with less yield each than to have long veg with potentially bigger harvests, but them hanging around long enough to also raise the potential of issues with that one big plant.IMG_7485.JPG

I may even go ahead and switch the rooms this evening since the GDP doesn't have a smell yet. My 'maters and peppers seem to like the 12/12 better, and that would give me more room.

I may re-pot this skunk and start training it. It is the one with only 2 main shoots, (and a mess right at the trunk) so it is built for a manifold-type spread to open everything up to light.
