I have to hook a bunch of stuff in my closet up to my surge protector for my stealth box, problem is the outlet is 10 feet away.

Whats the safe way to do this?

Hey toppers i had the same question my outlet is 20 ft away i heard using an extension cord alone is not safe cause there not designed to supply alot of power for long periods and may cause fires from excessive heat.Does anyone know if this is true?Sorry topper don't mean to bump your thread

So its safe to hook a surge protector up to extension cord? I don't know anything about this stuff.

I used to do it for audio equipment when I was a DJ.. Used them all the time with surge protectors and even 8 channel light controllers.

But dj equipment is only run for short periods of time his system will be running 18 hours a day 7 days a week,I would imagine any extension cord getting hot as hell under that load
