Very unlucky event just occurred. My fan fell off its shelf and crushed my only Gorilla Glue plant. Is there a chance it could pull through? It bent the main stem and completely fucked up the leaves. The stem has a small split it in now. What a pisstake. I've propped it up with a couple tooth picks but I'm not holding my breath. Its not wilting yet so thats a good sign

I've broken branches before and taped them together, usually I will know if they will make it in the first 5-10 hours if they start wilting like crazy or stay somewhat perky

I wouldn’t say done for. Highly set back. Nurture back I think would be possible.

also just throwing this out there.
doesn’t seem that unlikely of an event for a fan to fall off a shelf.
Find a mountable or clip fan or something that’s not gunna be falling on your babies.

Yeah it didn't exactly fall on its own. I was moving my surfboard out of my room and propped it against my wardrobe but it fell and hit the fan thus knocking it off the shelf. Safe to say that the surfboard is no longer functional now...

How bad did it split the stem? Maybe apply some tape to the stem to heal.
This probably could have been said 1st. You had no idea how bad the break in the stem was and yet you basically told him to bin it. What if he had immediately taken your advice out of frustration?

A little humor to help him loosen up maybe? As soon as I sent the first I quickly responded with the second message.

Im glad you followed up right away and I'm glad he didn't immediately toss the plant..
Helpful 1st, humor 2nd. I've been on these boards for a fair bit of time now, and I've watched many a new grower do heartbreaking things to their plants because someone told them to. Either because they were trying to be funny, or didn't know what the hell they were talking about...
either way I err on the side of caution because I don't want to be the reason someone trashes a perfectly salvageable plant. Not trying to be a jerk, I just think people say things on the internet without considering the impact they are actually having on other people.

Nah haha wasn't gonna discard it straight up, I was gonna wait to see if it pulls through and it already looks better. Saw the post and ignored it. Appreciate it tho
