switched from cfl to hps

i had a 4 plants under 3 45 watt cfls. and they grew nicely. and fast.
i switched to 2 150 watt vapot tight hps lights.
BUTT they slowed down on growing a lot!
they are like a foot away and kept cool with a fan.

? whyy?

What size pots are they in, and do they need transplanting to bigger ones? That's usually the main cause of sudden growth slowdown.

Either that, or they were stretching under the CFLs, so appeared to be growing faster.

...a foot is pretty high for 150w HPS....I get my 250 like 5 inches away.

Also I bet under the CFLs she grew pretty strait with not a lot of shoots. Under the HPS she will bush out, it may appear to be growing slower but you will notice little tiny leafs in all the corners of the fan leafs /stalk. These little tiny leafs will sprout into huge shoots in no time at all under the HPS.

one may need transplanting. but they were kinda short and bushy already. they wernt getting streached out at all

Transplant into suitable pots and keep the 150w within 6 inches of your plants. Some people put 150w 3-4" away.
