I will say that since I pulled the bulb switch resin production has been out of control, and the buds began fattening a good amount. I am also seeing significant bud growth at the tops, including tons of new pistols. And I thought I was almost done... I think I'm gonna chop in 5 days

also, I killed that bug with weed. true story. I picked it off, high as shit, it was frozen where it had landed. now he's toking in bug heaven

That looks like it could go quite a bit longer man, few of your pistils have even changed colour...but nice!

how long ya think bud? and thanks! That makes me happy. They will be fucking huge, my only concern is stems snapping. Any rough estimates on yield? I'd be happy with 5 ozs (five plants, 1 oz per plant) but I think it could be more. The lower buds are filling out nicely too

Give it until 75% of the pistils have turned brown...you want your buds swollen up like pieces of sweetcorn before you chop!

ok, but I've heard that judging by the pistols can be misleading... In that case I have one plant that I could chop today, it has like 100% brown pistils. however looking at it under the microscope I don't see ANY amber trichomes! they are 100% milky, however. this stuff is confusing. it's this LA Woman

This link explains it better than I ever could

but basically, it is an improved metal halide bulb that goes in a 400w magnetic HPS ballast. It is not, however, a conversion bulb. It has an enhanced PAR (the plant equivalent to lumens - lumens only measure relative intensity to the human eye, PAR measures how much light a plant can actually use). It also has a ton of UV-B that boosts trichome and resin production

SO

I have harvested one plant, about to harvest another: it makes the trichs go crazy, but perhaps even better the resin it produces is the stickiest, smelliest gooey tar I have ever encountered. I brush a stem and its like I've been trimming for an hour. however I noticed it did "fluff up" the buds a little bit, whereas the HPS seems to keep them more uniform and tight. My intuition tells me this is because the plant trichomes would stick to each other otherwise, it needs to give them room in order to coat EVERY surface with trichs. I'll put up pics in my grow journal so you see what I mean

PS this is best weed I have ever smoked
