Switching plants from 24/0 to 18/6 to being outside in early May questions.

So I started my 15 plants in so cal from seed at 24/0 light and they are at 5 weeks to current date. My question is should I slowly train them one hour a day of darkness to 18/6 light or just switch to 18/6 light? Will it induce flowering to reduce the light time being in 24/0 light for the first 5 weeks??? I plan to put them outside in about 3 weeks and I don’t want them to flower. Any advice on the approach to switching my plants from 24/0 to being outside without flowering would be great. Thanks all.

Going from 24hrs to 18hrs shouldnt trigger plants to flower ,you'll be fine.
I do it all the time, i've only had some strains start to flower at 16 hrs.

Not the biggest expert here at all, but a few basic things from experience and/or reading some: don’t put them outside until there is more sunlight than darkness. Looks like you’re probably ok in SoCal (13.5 hours of sunlight based on a quick google search; would be too early where I live for both sunlight and temp concerns), but it’s 12/12 hours that will trigger flowering, and that can happen if you put them out too early. Also, plants need to adapt to natural light. Ease them into it with a couple hours a day to begin. I’ve fried plants moving them from led to sunlight too quickly. Good luck. SoCal light is pretty intense, as I recently experienced myself. Was there in April. Good luck.

What about a plant that is revegged? I have a couple of clones I made from a plant that was in full flower, ready for harvest. I got a bud to root and reveg. I have it on 24 hrs of light. I was worried it might revert to flower if I put it on 18/6.

18/6 should definitely not trigger flower.

I experienced that with some veggies I had under the mars hydro fce3000 they got burned and turned white in the sun. They were also very very small so I learned my lesson. I will now slowly out them outside for a hour or so to train them for the intense sun we get. The climate here isn’t ideal for cannabis on a large scale because of the high winds and fog we get in the mornings. I’m down in Lompoc next to the space force base. I’m confident in being successful with attention and diligence to tending to them.
